My Name is lindsey and my son is 9 yrs old and has Aspergers, ADHD. Life is a challenge!



I decided to set up a parents support group in my area and the first meeting I was inundated 65 parents walked through the door looking for support. I run this group one evening every two months and I have to say it has been a eye opener so many of us out there think we are the only ones but you would be surprised there are many of us out there all looking for help, advice and support. All of which we are not getting. the best support out there is other parents and this is proving others wrong. Parents know BEST.

hello LIndsey, welcome and what a good thing to do helping support others in your area. Support groups are great, especially for new parents who often need a quick immersion into learning what is happening with their child. Even those of us who have been doing this for a long time can learn new things. I remember as a newly diagnosed parent, i loved going to support group there was always a story that a parent was telling about their child, that i could go, aha, oh thats why **kid does that. it is wonderful to feel like you have company and you arent the only one who faces challenges each day. Keep up the good work, well done. What our governments/helth departments wont do for us, we need to do for ourselves.
