I have a soon to be 4 yr old with autism...he is still in a crib, with a crib tent..but he is turning 4 soon and would like to get him into a bigger bed. I was very worried about him roaming around the house at night and was trying to find a solution. I came across a website that sells tents for twin size beds !!! This is the best thing !! if you have this problem, visit www.myreadysetbloom.com and sleep better at night knowing your child is safe !!

We put a baby gate that you mount with the hardware in his bedroom doorway. We could hear him jiggling the gate if he tried to leave his room. My son would roam the house and empty the freezer (it was on the bottom of our refrigerator). Not eating just taking everything out. The gate really helped. Another suggestion was to cut his door in half and lock it, where we can see inside his room and hear everything but he's safely locked in for the night. However, I didn't want to do this because he did get up to go to the bathroom and I didn't want to stop that part. At least with the gate we would hear him trying to open it and come and help him get to the bathroom. Otherwise we would put him back in bed.

A friend of mine has a child safety gate on her sons bedroom door. This works for her 5 year old
