contact a occupational therapist in your area she/he may know who and where to connect you with for this.

if your able to find a fabric store id get the felt fabric and find small like fishing weights and sew them in the blanket that might help you. I hope this helps.

Hi,

Southpaw.com is a wonderful website. It has a lot of OTs logging on and they definitely sell weighted blankets as well as vests.

I made my son's weighted blanket out of flannel and Flax seeds. I also used a little jasmine essential oil in it so that if I heated it would bring out the soothing aroma. If you make one be sure to make several pockets for the flax to distribute it evenly otherwise it all slumps to one side of the blanket. Good luck! "Abilitations" is also a company that sells therapy related items including weighted blankets. We bought my son's Hug vest from them but they are a little expensive.

If your son takes occupational therapy or speech therapy, they might have some catalogs where weighted vests are available. They can order them for you and you can pay then cash or check. Ask them.

Why don't you make it your self or ask someone to do it for ya... My son looooves soft fabric it helps alot when he is having meltdowns... have your son pick the fabric and make little pillows of sand with velcro and stick them inside were you want them... this way your can take them off and wash the blanket... at his school a teacher made him a weighted vest too, for reading time...(IT HELPS SOOOO MUCH).

I don't know where you live, but if there are no store around that offer that item you could make one your self or have a seamtress make one for you. Melotonin help my son, but it doesn't keep him asleep. Also, having white noise and a night light helps my son even now at 12. Good luck in you quest:)

Check with your doctor about possibly giving him melotoin. Also try and give him turkey or a bananna before bed time. These items naturally make you tired.
