Am 24 and have a 5 1/2 year old son with austim. I find that alot of the actives we do that the parents are older. does any one know a place where i can meet younger mom or dad with childeren with austim?

I'm also 24 and have a 3 year old with Autism (pdd-nos). I have not found other young parents yet so I've just had to be comfortable always being the youngest mom. I went to a support group in our town, and joined a committee for an Autism Speaks walk in our state. I also joined a community outreach program with Autism Speaks hopefully one of those will introduce me to younger moms. Feel free to message me anytime!

Hi Melissa, my name is Christina and I am 30 i have two children one with Autism PDD/Sensory. He turned 7 late Feb and has a 3 1/2 year olds mind. he is none verbal but he understands alot and is very good with electronics and blocks. this past year was his first year to go to school for a full day.As all kids do he has his moments of frustration which lead to hitting himself and throwing himself. The thing that has helped me the most is parent support groups and a family counselor that deals in families with special needs children and i have a almost 9 year old that is perfectly normal but doesnt like having all the attention turned towards her brother we didnt find out til he was 2 and things kinda gradually changed from there
