I'm Lisa and I'm in Southern California. I had my first three in the hospital, my next four at home with just my husband (no midwives or anything), and we're expecting #8 in February, at home again.

Hi, I'm Kathryn. My son was born at home in April. It was by far my best birth of three, although even in a hospital, it's hard to beat a midwife for care.

Hi, I'm Lindsey and I live in Phoenixville, PA. I've had 3 natural births - my first in a birth center in SC (attended by my wonderful midwife, Amy and my doula/friend, Molly) and my second and third were homebirths here is PA (attended by my wonderful midwife, Diane). I wouldn't plan to have a baby any other way!

Hello! VA here. I had my first 2 in a hospital with midwives 100%natural (ie: no meds, not even an IV) and my last one at home. Matter of fact, my mom had me at home, my aunts had their kids at home and I was lucky enough to have the same midwife deliver my youngest that delivered me... =)

Hi there! I am in Maryland! I had my second at home. My first was born naturally at a hospital with a midwife. I love talking about both births so I'm up for a chat!

What did you think of the differences of at the hospital and at home? I had all three at home and just wonder aobut the difference of the comfort?

The birth was a wonderful experience honestly. I had no horror story with that. I switched from an 8 OB/GYN practice to a midwife at 37 weeks b/c I didn't like not knowing who was going to deliver my baby. I didn't trust any 6 of them that I met! So this wonderful midwife took me in at 37 weeks. I saw her 2 times before I delivered and it went very well. The hospital stay was terrible. Again, I didn't trust the people around me. I didn't want my baby having formula and I know nurses will give the baby formula if in the nursery so "not to disturb the RESTING mother".  I also didn't want them preforming any tests or doing ANYTHING without my husband or myself present. Well I kept the baby with us at all times and the nurses scared us by saying...someone is going to take the baby if you're not careful. Okay, so they didn't use those exact words but that's what they meant.  So my husband and I were exhausted and they kept coming in to check on me every time I would fall asleep. It was horrible. It left a really bad memory in my head when it should have been a wonderful one. So the home birth was great AND 2 hours after the baby was born, we were alone and in bed sleeping! That's the long and the short of it!
