What personal touches made your home birth extra special?

We're at 34 weeks and planning out all the small intimate details of our home birth. This is my 3rd child and first home birth. We have planned a support person for my older children who could take them for a walk if need be but we'd love to include them if they wish to be there.

I've heard of people using candles and music but my husband questions how much of that just becomes a pain and waste of time to set up and how much they actually help to create a good atmosphere.

What things have you done? Was it worthwhile? And of course I'd appreciate any other tips or suggestions.
