I am putting my 3 yrs old son in to Head start and its great program if you can sign-up for it. Just like preschool and does help the child where he or she needs help. My son has a speech delay! I have just read in a Parents mag. that, boy are behind in some of their delevop then girls. So, when I found out that my son had this I got application for Headstart if you think the school is or is not apporate! Like, one of my school district says that my kid was austic and he is not so, I got very up set and found other alterative. So, don't let and public school push you to anything until you think it best for your child. Just observe you child each day he or she will tell you if he or she is ready for school. I know the ages are 3and 4 years old. Kindergarten is 5yrs ! I hope my little story helps you to!

I went to pre school when i was 2.9 years old. My mother had me potty trained by two and in school before I was three. I am going to do the same for my daughter, if the school permits me. Hope this helps.

Most schools recommend age 3 to start preschool. That way they are usually potty trained and are able to learn the basic skills needed for kindergarten. Preschool is a great way to pave the road for kindergarten and it gives the kids something to look forward to.
