My daughter is my 4th child and has always been my baby girl, we recently had another girl and now kiera is constantly pushed aside, from me (im ashamed to admit) her father and her brothers (go play somewhere else) i am wanting to set some time aside to spend with just her, any ideas?

I'd definitely plan to do something alone with her at least once a month, something she can look forward to as well.

Here are a few ideas: movies, park, bowling, dinner at her favorite restaurant, ask her for other ideas I'm sure she'll be thrilled to be included and would pass on several other ideas!

My son likes any day where big sister isn't around, as he's king for the day. coloring, playing video games, watching dvds, just anything that is just is their thing. we used to have bubble baths together, but now supposely he's a big boy & prefers to sit down & talk...just tickles , bike rides or cuddles are great time killers too. good luck

Hi Sheila, I like to multitask by taking my daughter shopping with me. We giggle and say "no boys allowed", it is kind of cute. We also play with her baby dolls and barbie doll house longer than normal. I only have two children, so it is easier to have one-on-one time. I hope my suggestions help and good luck to you.

My daughter (5 in a couple of days) loves having "spa days" with mommy. I soak her feet, rub her fee with lotion and then paint her toe nails. I do the same with the hands and finger nails. We take a break for "tea" and talk about anything she wants to. I finish by doing her hair up for her. It is a great break for me and she feels special in the end. I have also done this on a Saturday and sent her daddy and her older brother out for the day as well. Great bonding for both.

I like that idea about the movie, just don't see any out there currently that my daughter would like, unfortunately.

For my daughter, I gave her a card at Christmas time that said 'good for one special night out with mommy.' She hasn't redeemed it yet, but I gave her the idea of either going somewhere fun (i.e. arcade type place), or taking her out for dessert. Another older mom told me she used to let 1 child stay up late with mom & dad once a week & they would rotate which kid it was that got to do this. I think this was done more in the summer, when schedules were more flexible. I'm sure whatever you decide to do, she will just be happy to have time alone with you.

My oldest (five in Feb) loves going to the movies. We set aside special days periodically and go to lunch then a movie...we especially do this on doctor check up days, around their birthday. I take the whole day off instead of a few hours, go to the doctor first thing in the morning, then go to lunch and a movie. My youngest is 3 1/2 and I'm going to do that for her also on her 4th birthday.
