How do I keep my 3 year old in her own bed at night? She usually finds her way to my bed around 4-5 every morning.

My little boy was doing this constantly! It didn't matter what time of night, if he woke up or just couldn't sleep he'd crawl in bed with me. Before this point we didn't have much of a bedtime routine. I finally established a routine and since then he's been staying in his own bed through the night. Every once in a while he comes and joins us but it's usually only after having an accident. Hope this helps =)

I am having the same problem with my three year old. I have tried everything, but she always ends up in bed with me. so now i just put the tv on for her in the lounge room and i sleep on the lounge for another two hours.

I am currently going through the same thing. But my 3 year old will not even sleep in her own bed at all. Ok I take that back, she will as long as i am in there with her. But now how many of us moms really want to sleep in our childs bed when we have our own bed that is just so much more comfortable? Someone has told me about a reward system to try, I have not yet tried it because i was just told today. But have a box or something have some goodies in there like little stuffed animals or something like that and when she sleeps all night in her own bed then in the moning she can get that reward. I was also told about having a sticker chart and each night that she sleeps in her own bed she can get a sticker and if she does it all week then she can get a new toy or something like that. Yeah, I was told this this morning and I am going t try it with my daughter. So I hope this helps you out and good luck. I know how it is not getting very much sleep at night.

I know how you feel, I just recently got my 3 year old back to her own bed just as easter break started. like Jennifer, we told our little girl to go to her bed, it was hard at first but they learn fast. the only problem now is her getting up and wanting water...but stick to it and soon you will have your bed back.

It's funny that it seems to be happening a lot more frequent with girls that boys!! My daughter has been doing this since September!! She will go to sleep in her bed, but around 3ish, she finds her way to mine! We've finally just decided to deal with it! Why break up everybody's sleep to keep trucking her back up the stairs into her bed! PLUS, it's only going to last for SO LONG- eventually she isn't going to want you to even lay down with her!!! I just enjoy snuggling with her!!

I found that taking her back to her bed and not letting her into our room works for her.  But what ever you do stay consistent. good luck

I am currently going through this same problem pretty much EVERY night around the exact same times/. It's gotten so bad that my husband has pretty much started sleeping on the couch so that he can get some sleep for work! It started out that an alligator had came in her window & now her excuse is that she just can't sleep..... no matter how many times I take her back to her bed & get her to sleep again after I get back into bed & fall asleep she is back again! So I'm looking for advice on this one as well.

We had to finally keep telling her to go back to bed.  She cannot open our bedroom door, so when I hear her trying the knob, instead of letting her in like I used to, I tell her to go back to bed and she does.  It's hard to turn her down, because she's so darn cute, but she makes it hard to sleep (can you beleive how much room a 25 lb child takes up!?).  Also, I think she just needs to learn that it's not appropriate to sleep in Mom and Dad's bed every night.

If the husband is not around, though, I sometimes allow her to cheat--more for my benefit than her own.  :)
