Hi... I am almost 40 weeks pregnant due on December 30, and still have no signs of labour. I am still closed and the baby is way up. This is my third pregnancy and with my previous two I was induced at 41 weeks. I am hoping this time I do not get induced.... ARE there any ways to stimulate my labour or jump start it naturally????? I am really tired of being pregnant with my huge belly and looking after my 4 year old and a 2 year old as well!!!!!! ANY IDEAS??

I would definitely try having sex. I was advised to try that - and I just couldnt. I felt like a whale, I hurt everywhere, the baby was moving nonstop (so that felt weird to have sex while feeling the baby squirm!).

I ended up being induced with cervidil and it was the WORST experience EVER. My husband and I have since taken to calling cervidil either the "Evil Shoestring" or "Satan's Shoelace".

Next pregnancy - when we get near the time of delivery and/or are overdue - we are having sex. Sex, sex and more sex. Surefire way to go into contractions. ;)

okay ladies basically tried everything right now except the castor oil...... too scared to try that one. Nothing is happening yet still shut tight down there....this has never happened before, by this time with my other pregs I was a couple cms dilated, but with this one absolutely nothing. Jjust a couple more days and the year's over. Looks like I'm gonna have a 2010 baby...

Anything to get yourheart pumping and active, sex, walking, jogging all that is really good to start labour.

I have the same situation.... i have heard walking, sex, jogging (if you were active before and during pregnancy), spicy food, bouncing on the ball thing, nipple stimulation, luke warm baths to soften the cervix, raspberry leaf tea, Castor oil (but it gives you baaaaad diarhea and can make you throw up), blue and black cohosh ( they are herbs apparently), Acupressure, greasy food (but that only works if you eat healthy the rset of the time), and i have found numerous other claims that just seem ridiculous to me. I google ways to induce labor nearly everyday looking for something helpful. The only ways proven to work is sex, walking and castor oil, but the castor oil works because it puts you and baby in stress due to dehydration. I myself have only tried walking, sex, spicy food, baths and nipple stimulation. But i would like to learm more about accupressure. Good luck to you and i hope these things work better for you than they have me!
