hello
i found clothes wise that the main basics you are gonna need if this is your first baby are things like:
vests
sleep suits
mittens
overall coat
bibs
tights and socks
and as many cute little outfits as you like
size and quantity wise i would buy a few extra small sleep suits and vest and the rest in the typical newborn size ( you can always give the extra small stuff to a friend or charity shop if the baby is too big) i wouldnt buy too many cute outfits for the first few months as i found that my two girls rarely came out of there little sleep suits as they were so comfy and snug in them, just make sure you have plenty of vests, sleep suits, mittens, and hats is my best advice.
hope this helps :)

if your just thinking about clothes I would get plenty of body suits (no arms or legs) prob go for size 0000 only coz they tend to last longer in the ones without legs then with (my boy lasted 2 weeks in the full length 0000 but the short ones he lasted much longer) but make sure you have plenty 000 on hand coz you never know the size (its all just a guessing game) dont stress about cute out fits, coz first its ganna be too hot, and second new borns pee threw everything!!!! and if your breastfeeding the poo goes up the back and out the sides lol! and of course have plenty of 0000 singlets coz in summer your baby will live in as little as possible.

a baby swing and/or bouncy chair!! Even tho you will probably want to hold your baby 24/7, its always nice to have a little break! Plus a lot of babies LOVE to swing (some hate it...lol) As for clothes, if you are having a baby shower, don't buy too many newborn baby clothes until you see what your friends and family have for your little one (or buy lots, if you have a lot of room lol). Diapers, I bought one pack of newborn ones and a pack of size ones, which turned out to be perfect! I found that receiving blankets were great to wipe up the spit up and vomit that is forever coming out of a newborns mouth lol. Congratulations on your new baby-in-the-making :)

I was really lucky to get all my clothes from two nephews. I wouldn't buy too many newborn clothes, or at least take the tags off until you know for sure that your child will fit in them. My son only fit in newborn clothes for about a week so we didn't use much. My son was in pj's most of the first month. I am also a fan of short and long sleeve plain white onesies. I'd put them under PJ's on really cold days. It is hard to know how many of each you will need because every child is different. I had a friend whose child wore the same pj's for 2 days in a row (not endorsing this. I didn't really approve), and I had a friend whose daughter went through 3 outfits a day due to BM explosions. My suggestion is overbuy, but don't wash everything right away so you can return if he/she outgrows them before you use them. I used A LOT of burp clothes. Disposible diapers work great as them. You'll also be surprised how many washclothes you go through. We really liked the sleep sack which he used starting at 1 month or so. We needed 2 of those. My other favorite thing was the sleeping bag cover that went in the car seat so I didn't need to fuss with a snow suit.

At first, I was really against all the second hand clothes. My first child deserved new stuff and all that. I got over that pretty quick. They wear the clothes for so little time that anything you can get for free, go for it!

OK, I just realized how much I have typed. I hope some of it helps!

I found with my first that some terry towelling nappies to throw over your shoulder while burping also helped that way if u get thrown upown or spit up on you you won't need to change your clothes as well

personly i would get the cot and pram first get the bid things out the way....

then clothes wise you need baby grows/ sleep suits and vests. you will need plenty of them as babies need changing alot depenting on how much they spit up. you will need outfits depending on your weather in december. you will need blankets.

it will be easier if you buy newborn sttuff and 0-3 stuff i always buy stuff the next size up and put them away for my son as they tend to grow out of them real quick and sometimes i find he hasnt got much that fits him because he grows that quick.

when i waas pregnant with my son i thought i had pleenty of clothes and when i had him it looked like he had nothing as he was always beeing changed.

i find out if im having a girl or boy on the 29th if i have a boy i will be all set with clothes as i have all my sons and all my nephews clothes from when they were born if i have a girl i will be starting all over again lol it will be nice to have a girl this time.

are you hoping for a girl or boy?

congratulations :) hope i have helped a little.
