My little girl was 9lbs 3oz at birth and is now about 16lbs. She is breastfed. Just wondering what everyone's little ones were at birth as opposed to what they weigh now. Every baby that I know that was born around or after her, were smaller than her and have, by far, surpassed her weight!!

my twins turned 10 months on 15th of this month and were born 6lbs9 and 6lbs 11 and are now 19lbs 11 and 20lbs 11 !

my son was 8pound 5oz born and is now 24 pound 9oz.. he is 9 and a half months old. everyone says they loose weight with crawling and being sick. he had a cold for 2 weeks and has been crawling for 2months and still has not lost any weight. a very healthy boy!

My DD was born at 6lbs 7ounces and 19 inches long. At her 9 month appointment, we were shocked to find that she was 20 lbs and 31.5 inches long!!!! :) She was breastfed until recently. I had to stop due to a massive surgery that I am about to have - she can not have the strong antibiotics and narcotics that they will have me on. She is also eating 3 to 4 meals a day of real food that I have made for her. She is eating fruit (strawberries banana mango kiwi raspberries blackberries blueberries) and vegetables (acorn squash butternut squash carrots tomato zucinni). She also "trys" what is on our plates - we cut everything into the tiniest bits we possibly can and she devours it!!!

My boy was 9lbs 7.9oz and 20in @ birth...and at his last visit (couple of wks ago) 21 lbs 3 oz and 31 in~ he has stayed consistently in the 97-99 percentile for height...but he is only 75 percentile for weight.

My son was 6lb 15oz.6 ....he went down to 6lb 6oz's 2 months ago he was 19.10lbs and went to 17.1lb (got sick with teething and my antibiotics) now hes back to 19lbs....all the babies in my small town were big at birth and are heavier than him too his lil cousin is almost 5 months younger is 19lbs 13oz's and hes 28in long! almost exactly same size as my son!

my son was 8lbs 6oz /3.9kgs when he was born and he is now 19lbs and the smallest out of all his friends he was breats fed until 4 months and now has formula but he doesnt drink a lot of it and he eats 3 meals a day.

my daughter was 6 lbs 8 oz at birth. She is now almost 10 months and 16 lbs and 2 oz at her 9 month check up. But then she was getting over some kind of allergies and wasn't eating like she usually does. I weighed her last week and she is now up to 17.8 pounds. She was fully breastfed until she was 8 months and then formula all day and still nurses to go to sleep at night.

My 9 month old was 10 lb 15 oz born and has just hit the 20 lb mark. His body is very long and he isn't a real chubby baby ... he's not a little piggy like my first son was. My first son was around 20 lb at 5 months!

12/25/09 he weighed 4lbs 2.10oz and was breast fed for the first 2months of his life he was also 8 weeks early and hes 9 months old and weighs 20lbs

My baby girl was 5lb 15oz and she is almost 17lbs now. She is breastfed also...and typically breastfed babies are smaller than formula fed babies because the breastmilk is naturally easier to digest than formula. Plus the baby learns to stop eating when he/she wants instead of being forced to finish a 7oz bottle.

I had my baby girl in November (I was induced due to diabetes being out of control) and that was 3 weeks early. She was 10lb 2oz. And she was 22lb 6oz at her 9 month appointment 2 weeks ago

Yeah... 16 pounds sounds a little light for a 8 month old baby. However... girls are often lighter than boys and if her bone structure is small. My girlfriend has a little girl and at around 9 months she was about the same weight... however the doctors did tell her she needed to put more weight on her child. She was only nursing so we talked about introducing solid foods in addition to nursing. My son was about 7pounds 8 ounces and I think he is around 18 pounds at 8 months.

Logan was 7 pounds 12 ounce, born on Dec 9th and on Aug 23rd he was 18 1/2 pounds. He hasn't been gaining much weight the last month and a half or so but the doctor said that's because he crawls so much and is trying to walk and it just overall a very active little boy!

My little girl was born Dec. 18th at 6lb. 7 oz and on August 16th weighed 14lb 4oz. I just moved her from size 1 to size 2 diapers last week and is wearing 3 month clothes she is super skinny but very long

olivia was 6lb 7.5oz and weighed 15lb 6.5oz 3 weeks ago. she is only in 3-6 months clothes!! bottle feed from birth but has 3 meals aday now with 3 bottles during the day and 2 during the night. x

I also have concerns as my baby girl is tiny and below weight on the charts. She was born 7.2 lbs in Dec and was only 13 lobs at her six month appt. She still hasn't doubled her weight at 7 months, but she is super active and alert so I think she just burns calories fast. :-) I exclusively breastfed for six months and now she eats solids three times a day with breast milk too.

My daughter was born at 37 weeks weighing 4 lbs. 9 oz. At her 6 month check-up on 7-15 she weighed 14 lbs. 5 oz. She was breast and formula fed for 2 months to help with weight gain, but now she's formula fed with 3 bottles and 2 food meals a day.

My son was born 11/22/09. His birth weight was 6 lbs 6 oz and he know is weighing in at 21.8 lbs.
I'm sure you have nothing to worry about. Your daughter's pediatrician keeps a close watch on this type of growth.

My DD was 7lbs 11oz at birth (Dec 20/09) and is now 16lbs. She is also breastfed with 2-3 small solid food meals per day. All the babies that are around her age (and younger) are bigger than her. But I figure that I just have a little peanut on my hands. :D

My son was born weighing 8 lbs 10 oz and just turned 7 months old and weighs 22 lbs. He is so big. He eats 3 meals a day. Rice cereal mixed with a jar of fruit baby food and juice then gets a 4 oz bottle of formula about 30 to 45 minutes later. Then he gets 2 jars of stage 2 baby food for both lunch and dinner. He gets one formula bottle in between each feeding and the rest of the time he gets juice. He is also starting to eat table food. He ate chicken with me the other night for dinner. He loves his food and gets mad if you are eating and you dont give him any.

My son was 4 weeks premmie and was 6lbs 11oz. He too is a very very healthy boy. It took me 2 weeks, but when he figured out how to attach, he was a very good breastfeeder as well and now he eats everything you give him.
At 7 months he weighs a whopping 26.5 pounds!
Some people say he looks like a 1 year old. So far people only know he's premmie because I tell them. Noone can see he was born premmie.

My son was 4lbs at birth...he was a preemie...actually born a month early....but now you can't even tell...he just turned 8mos and weighs 18lbs...he is very healthy, love to eat..I am very blessed!!!!

My twins were 5lbs 7.8oz (Mahlia) and 5lbs, 9.8oz (Mackenzie). Today they are also close in weight. Mahlia weighs 17.4lbs and Mackenzie weighs 17.8lbs, as of July 23rd, 2010.
I initially planned to breastfeed but they lost too much weight at birth and was made to formula and breastfeed. I Breastfed them until they were 3 months. They currently drink 6 ounces of milk at each bottle and eat ceral for breakfast and homemade lunch. My doctor suggested they only eat twice a day because they need the formula for nutrients they can't get from food.

Aiden was 9lb 4oz at birth which was 12-26 and 19in long, now at 7 months he is 20lbs and 9oz and 29inches long. He is in 90th percentile for height and weight but 45th for his head..lol!!

My son was 6 lbs, 12 oz at birth and is now 20+ lbs. He started out breastfeeding with formula as supplement (he couldn't latch on, so I pumped and couldn't get enough for him that way). Around 2 months he began exclusive breastfeeding, and his weight gain has been steady since.

My little boy was 7lbs 13 and he is now about 22lbs(got him weighed on the 21st of July) . He wasn't breastfed due to my medication. He is and always has been above average in height and weight but always in proportion. Some of his body suits and t-shirts are 9-12 he is only 7 months old. He is currently on 2 meals aday.

My daughter was born Dec 13th and weighed 8lb 11oz, she nows weighs 20lb 10oz, but shee has been formula fed and started on solids around 4 months.
