Hi ladies,
My hubby and I are almost done with our bradley birthing class (2 more sessions)... We've loved it so far! I feel really prepared and have learned a lot from it.

What classes are you taking? Did you like them?

We're taking a preparing for childbirth class. I love it! I feel more prepared and informed to make decisions. I'm also taking a breastfeeding class that hasn't started yet.

I'm also at the end of Bradley clases- one more session left. Lots of good information, esp. on dangers of induction and other narcotics used during labor/delivery. It made me feel more informed about the choices that we may face when we go to the hospital. Also very helpful in learning the various stages of labor, and when to go to the hospital. At the suggestion of my Bradley teacher, we now have a doula, whom I think will be helpful in both making suggestions and someone that my bf can talk to during labor.

We've been taking prepared childbirth at the local hospital but it hasn't been very helpful. Aside from freaking us out about all the things that can go wrong and interventions that might be needed everything else we've learned we already knew from reading our pregnancy books.

I just took a birthing class today. It was one offered by the hospital. It's interesting to find out that I can only have 2 people there with me the entire time and no visitors because of the H1N1 scare.

We aren't taking any this time. We took the birthing class at the hospital last time. I did like it very much. There was a lot I had no idea about, like some of the different options if something goes wrong, and some of the after-birth issues. I felt much more prepared. They also showed us the delivery room which made it more comfortable for me when the time came. We also met a wonderful couple there who we've kept in touch with. A great bonus! This time I just plan to take a tour of the hospital, as we are going to a different one.

I haven't taken one this pregnancy, but for my 1st pregnancy I took a hospital birthing class that just sort of lightly covered many methods. I would say it was just "okay." I have heard a lot of good things about Bradley and probably would have done that this time, but we decided we remembered enough to hopefully get us by. (Hopefully! LOL!) Katie, you might want to search online. I've heard that there are a few options for taking birthing classes online. Not the same as in person, but probably much cheaper and then at least you'll get the important information...

I'm not taking any birthing classes and I'm 8 months pregnant. I probably should have just to get information, but they are so expensive and my doctors office charges an arm & a leg. They also have a waiting list, so who knows when I would get in.
