Hi everyone-

I'm just wondering who had their babies on Christmas? I had our son on Christmas morning in a beautiful planned home birth. He weighed 8 lbs, 11 oz, and was 20 in long. An hour after he was born our 2 year old daughter was opening her Christmas presents in our own living room. There was a ridiculous blizzard outside, and we were all cozy and warm in our own house. It was wonderful! What's your birth story?

I have a little Christmas girl. God really did give me an angel that day! I had 16 miscarriage scares with her so it was touch and go through my whole pregnancy (I even needed emergency kidney surgery to save our lives!!). Being a Christian I thanked God every morning for getting us through the night and every evening for getting us through the day. I also had quite a few extra family member attending my house for Christmas as my due date was the 29th. I prepared Christmas lunch on Christmas Eve then my sister in law and her husband and I went for a walk around the neighbourhood to look at the lights. Every time I picked up my pace I felt a contraction so I knew what I was getting for Christmas but didn't want to say anything in case I was wrong. After driving all day another set of relatives arrived late at night as I was going to bed. Three hours later at 1:15am on Christmas morning my waters broke. The contractions were very gentle but stayed at 2 minutes apart for the next 7 hours growing in intensity. I really wanted a home birth but had to give it a miss as I was considered 'high risk' so went to hospital at 2:30am. The midwives got really excited when I arrived about my 'Christmas baby' and hung decorations around my door to the birthing suite I was in. The birth was problem free and my daughter was born perfect. After all that stress and trauma during my pregnancy there wasn't a single thing wrong with her. She was born at 8:40am and a newspaper article was written about us! The picture made my husband I look like teen parents, lol!

I love her so dearly as there were so many times I thought I would never get to hold her...

My daughter was due on the 20th of december 2007. When ifound out that was my due date i just knew she wouldn't come until the 25th. I woke at 7am on the 24th December and my contractions started soon after. They stayed at 15 to 10 minutes apart all day. i tried to sleep but couldn't as i was to uncomfortable. At 2am they got closer to 5 mins apart so woke my partner and we went to the hospital. The nurse took my blood pressure and felt my tummy when ihad a contraction and told me i was to anxious and should of stayed home. At this time i'm thinking ha?? i have christmas brekkie at my house in 8 hours, you really think i came for the fun of it!!? anyway she sent me to a room, got me a milo and a panadol and told me to sleep. An hour later at 4am my contractions were coming every two minutes. The nurse got me to have a shower then i couldn't get out, sothey wheeled me in a wheel chair to delivery where she did an internal and said "oh, your 9 and a half centermetres dialated!" so i had some pethadine and then i lost the urge to push. shift changed at 7am and i had the best midwife then. She encouraged me to move and i had to have my waters broken and given pitocin so i could have my baby. I eventually had her at 10.11am christmas day. My partner stayed and we had roast for lunch, then he went home and my sister came in for a couple of hours. i then spent the rest of the day resting as i was so in love with this new being and so exhausted. i wouldn't change it for the world and there really is something special about christmas now.

I was due 1/1/10 with my second son Aidan, my waters went on the 23rd so they wanted to induce me on Christmas Eve however when we turned up there was 'no room at the inn' so I returned at 8:30 Christmas morning, induced at 10:30 and had him 37mins later at 11:07am weighing 7lbs 13oz! I discharged myself after the six hours and we went straight to my Mum and Dads for our late christmas dinner lol.

I have a 4 year old and an 8 month old and both were due on 4 January of the next year and BOTH of them were exactly 10 days early and born on Christmas Day. We love our two Christmas babies and I'm yet to read of or hear of anyone that has had the same experience. Both of my births were natural drug-free births and they were both very quick.

I had my daughter on 12/23 (original due date 12/24) and she arrived at 5:38 a.m. after 24 hours of labor. We were actually discharged from the hospital the next day. My doctor actually came to see me, but Lexi's doctor discharged her over the phone. All I can say for the next time around, we will be staying for 2 full days in the hospital. I wouldn't have minded staying til Christmas Day (or later).

I had our daughter on Christmas Eve. She was born at 3:14 PM and was 7 lbs even and 20 inches long. We were in the hospital on Christmas as well. We had lots of visitors so that was nice. We didn't have our Christmas celebration till after New Years with our families.

My due date was December 31,2009 (yep New Years Eve). I thought I would go before this due to early labors with my past 2, my husband thought I would go on the 18th. However at 12:02 on the 31st I started having the real deal contractions! We were all trying to hold out until New Years day but my little girl was DETERMINED to come and she did! She made her arrival on New Years Eve at 2:22pm weighing in at 8lbs 9oz and 20" long.

I had our son on Christmas Eve morning. He was 8 lbs 11 oz as well but he was 22.25 in long. It wasn't a whole lot of fun being in the hospital for Christmas Eve because that's when both of us usually celebrate Christmas, and since H1N1 we could only have 2 visitors at a time. But my family came to our window at the hospital to sing Christmas Carols to us! It was so sweet of them to think of us!
