My daughter Evaliya was born on December 9th & isn't crawling yet. She does roll everywhere (& I mean EVERYWHERE) & has been rolling since about 2 months old. She can almost sit up all the way without support (she leans forward a bit, but can stay that way for about a minute). She can lift her belly up off the floor, but hasn't crawled yet. I put her knees up underneath her (in a crawling position) & she'll rock forward & back and then push her legs out & make herself do a faceplant lol (no it doesn't hurt her she does it gently). She hasn't even gotten into the crawling position by herself (only when I put her in it). I was just wondering how many December babies are crawling yet, how many arent, & what day were they born on? Thanks! =D

My daughter started crawling when she was just a week or so shy of turning 9 months old. It was literally the week after she started at a daycare that had other kids that were all at least 5 months older than her. It was like seeing them encouraged her to get up and get moving. It will come when they are ready.

Ben was born 12/18 and doesn't crawl yet. He's getting really good about sitting unsupported - he can go for long periods before he takes a dive for the floor. He spends almost all of his floor time on his tummy. He can turn in circles on his tummy and can inch forward on a modified army crawl. No crawling yet, but he has risen onto his hands and knees a few times. It's right around the corner, I'm sure!

My daughter was born on the 5th, she has been crawling since she was just about 6 months, now she's standing on her own.

My little girl was born Dec 23 and just started crawling last week. She's picking up speed quickly too! I think girls tend to get started a little faster than boys do in general....

My baby was born dec22. doesn't like tummy time when awake. hates rolling. doesn't move around at all yet. doesn't have any interest in trying to crawl. Does like to stand and sits great all by himself and has great balance. He does weigh 25lbs so maybe he is just too heavy for his arms to hold himself up and his belly is too big to roll over:) They all do things at their own pace and I personally am in no hurry for him to start crawling away from me!

My daughter was born December 13th. She's been doing what I call the "belly-flop crawl" since she was about 6 1/2 months old. She'll throw herself forward onto her belly, push herself up and do it again. It's not the classic crawl but, boy, is she fast! She was rolling over at about 2 months and has been sitting up on her own since she was about 5 months old. She stands for several minutes now as long as she's hanging onto to someone or something. And she's been eating finger snacks for a few weeks now.
Every baby does things at their own pace. I'm sure yours will be crawling soon and then you'll wish she'd stay where you left her!

My daughter was born on 12/1 and has been crawling for 2 weeks now. One day I got down on the floor with her and said, ok, let's work on your crawling. That day she started scooting, and later that day she started crawling, but it came out of the blue. She never really liked tummy time. She's been sitting unaided for about 6 weeks now, and getting into a sitting position from lying on her stomach. Now she wants to pull up on everthing. Like many said above, every child has their own time for everything. My daughter will be 8 months in about a week, but still has no teeth. :-)

My daughter is so close! Today she moved both arms and one knee and then she was able to reach what she wanted. I wish it had been a bit further away. :) She was born on 12/3. She used to (like 2 months ago) sit up and bounce on her bum to get where she wanted, now she wants a hand so she can walk. She's been walking with my hands for about 5 weeks. She is starting to cruise on furniture now. For a while I thought she might skip crawling, but now I think she will do it. I think every baby has his or her own time line.

My daughter was born Dec 5th. Shes been sitting unsupported for 7 weeks now, for long periods 30+ minutes. she'll roll over if she wants something but not as a way to 'travel'. She army-crawls backwards, lol, and rocks on all 4's, she tries to move but hasnt quite figured out how to move everything yet. She is able to go from a sitting to a lying position comfortably... every baby is different. :)

Aurora was born december 4th. she started out going backwards at 5 1/2 months. it wasnt until 6 1/2 months that she really figured out how to go forwards and now she crawls great. she started pulling herself up to her knees and feet on furniture and in her crib. i think she is going to be an early walker but id really rather her slow down a bit! hehe

my son was due on jan 2nd but born on 12/7. he can sit up but only if i put him that way. he cant get up to a sitting position by himself yet. sometimes he falls over so if he's practicing sitting i sit with him.

if i put him on his back he flips over immediately onto his tummy and get up on his hands and knees and rocks back and forth. he'll do that til he's tired then start to complain. he can flip back over onto his back but doesn't do it a lot. i think he'd rather i come pick him up.

sometimes ill put him on a blanket and go make a bottle and when i come back 2 minutes later he be off the blanket and reaching for a toy. i dont know how someone who's not crawling yet can be so mobile. i've never actually seen him move around. i just look over and he's in a different spot.

my gma said that eventually i'll put him down and walk away and i'll look down and he'll be right behind me. lol then watch out!

My baby girl n Dec. 5th and just started crawling last week, she started off rolling all over the place too when she was 5mths. She still is not able to sit upright alone she tends to lean forward. If there is something she really likes a lot you can use that to help motivate her to want to crawl. My daughter only made the effort because she like to grab things in sight to put in her mouth especially food. I place a bottle or any other object in front of her to try and reach every time she gets closer I pull it away so she can try to reach for it again till she got the hang of it and started doing it on her own.

My son was born 12/8 and he gets up on his hands and knees, rocks and also gets up on his hands and feet... but only army craws with dragging his belly along the floor... sits up by him self, and falls forward to get into the crawling stage.... however his cousin who was born 12/30 hardly rolls over by herself, and is not close to crawling at all yet... and leans forward when we place her sitting up. So dont panic... she will get it sooner than later!

My son was born on December 10th and isnt crawling yet, he can move his body around but he hasnt really done much more than that, he sits pretty well if I put him in sitting position.

His cousin Moriah is a week older and she is already crawling, sitting and is already trying to walk. Her parents think its because she wants to follow her sister around.

I think that they will crawl when they are ready ;)

My daughter Paige was born December 7th and is not crawling yet. She has been sitting unsupported for about 2 months. She really enjoys standing and holding onto furniture. She attempts to pull herself up but hasn't quite done it yet. It scares me a bit, she tries to pull herself on some toys that aren't stable enough to hold her.She is getting anxious to crawl, she sits up and bounces on her thighs as if she is going to do it. Tummy time isn't a favorite position for her though, she gets frustrated when she isn't able to reach anything. I'm going to try lifting her knees to put her in the crawling position, thanks for the tips. But of course, when she is ready she will crawl.

Dita was born on the 15th and she is still at the up on her knees rocking stage. I'd love one of your babies who sit unaided for half an hour, mines way too nosey and soon as ya sit her down she's off! She's like the others tho and pulls herself to standing when you hold her hands. x

My son was born 12-11-09 and he started crawling when he was 6 and a half months old. He would get on his hands and knees before and rock. (and he too would faceplant) He did that for about 2 weeks beofre he finally got the hang of it. Now you can't keep him still. He is also sitting up all by himself. He started crawling before he could sit unsupported though. So keep in mind every baby is different and does things thier own little way.

My baby was born on 18th and she still not crawling, she can't sit without support, but I'm not worried about that at all. Babies start to crawl between 6th and 8th month of age so there is planty of time to learn. But there's one thing - babies should learn to crawl by them selfs! Parents shouldn't learn them how to crawl! We just have to give them space and opportunities to learn. They must get experiences with moving of their body. Lots of babies start to crawl backwords, isn't that funny :)

My son was born on the 26/12/09 and he started comando crawling on the 6/7/10. He wont put his knees under himself at all so I think this might stay his style for a while. I was trying to get him to roll to me by putting a bright coloured scarf just out of reach of him and he pushed himself on his belly instead of rolling to it. I kept pulling it just as he got in reach of it. This might be worth a try for you. My son didnt even look like crawling before this. He cannot sit unaided yet.

My little girl was born on December 13th, but my birthday is December 9th! LOL! She is not crawling yet. She does roll around and she scoots on her back backwards to get to things that she wants but doesn't crawl. I also put her in the crawling position and she face plants so I understand what you are saying. I am not worried about it and I don't think you should be. Crawling can start anywhere from 5 to 12 months and girls are normally slower at the physical stuff than boys. Always remember that we grow in stages not ages.

My baby was born on the 12-21-09 and starting crawling a week and a half ago. She is fast to. Plus she is pulling up on everything. I didn't think I was giving her enough tummy time but she got it. There was something that was far away from her that she wanted and she started crawling to get it. Hasn't stopped since. If your baby is rocking she is well on her way!

My daughter was born on Dec 15th and she isn't crawling yet either. She has gotten herself into the crawling position a few times but she faceplants as well. She rolls and pushes herself around with her legs. She does sit independently though. I figure she'll either get it in her own time or just skip it and go straight to walking. I've spoken to her pediatrician and he said not to worry about it.

My daughter 12/31/09 can sit for a bit by herself, and rolls like crazy. She has not yet mastered the crawl, but she's working on it. I find that she would rather try to stand and is always looking for someone to help pull her to her feet. She hates tummy time too, we started as soon as she was able, but she has hated it from the begining. I think it could be her reflux, bu8t all babies work at there own pace. I think to each there own and we shouldn't worry that someone elses kid can do it, that causes stress on the parent and the child. Give them time, it will come!

My son Stu is not quite there yet. He can sit half the day and play. with toys and his 'first steps baby walker' but he gets so very annoyed when he is on the floor and gets his knees under him, bless u can see he really just wants 2 get going. My first instinct is to pick him up and let him sit but I know he needs to practice. I know it'll no time at all before he is crawling and cruising around so I'm using the next 2 weeks 2 get the downstairs crawling safe again! Lol . Relax she'll be there before u know it and u'll wish 4 the days u could put her siege and know that's where she'll stay x good lick

My son was born 12/24/2009 and he is almost crawling. He gets up on his hands and knees, rocks back and forth, and begins to crawl, but then plops down and scoots to the object he is after. He pulls himself across the floor with his arms and he's also started getting up on all fours and raising himself off the floor, making what looks like a "bridge" with his body. He can push himself to sitting position now, too. He loves to roll, too.

When they start the rocking on hands and knees, crawling is coming very soon! Sitting usually comes first, though. Sitting and crawling are typically pretty close together for most babies, but keep in mind that every baby is different. I think the average age for crawling is eight months.

Lexi was born on the 16th Dec and hates lying down she has silent reflux though so i cant blame her. So hence she doesnt roll around or picked up how to crawl. She can sit by herself though for ages and lean forward and around her to pick things up. My money says she wont crawl at all shel prob just scoot round on her bottom hehe

[deleted account]

My daughter was born Dec 16th. She has been rolling over for awhile, sits up on her own (even pushes herself into sitting position). When she is on her tummy, she will get up on her hands and knees. She looks like she wants to crawl, but after a minute, she just flops back down on her tummy. I get the feeling that she will figure out the crawling soon.

My son was born on the 11th December. He has been pushing himself across the floor using his elbows and feet for a while now. He has been sitting since he hit the 6-months mark. He will sit and play with his toys for a good half hour up to an hour without falling over. He loves to stand up and races around in his baby walker. Only this week he started moving from sitting into crawling position and rocking back and forth on all fours. He'll do that for a minute or two and then collapse onto the floor. So I think, he'll be crawling soon.

He does not like the tummy position very much but will be sitting stretching reach & yes then do that faceplunge- gently though. But as soon as he wiggles himself onto the tummy position he rolls right over onto his back again. He gets very frustrated as his buddy (just 2 weeks older) is crawling all over the show
