Hi Marisa, my daughters birthday is Dec. 29th & we invite family over for cake & icecream & munchies... ect... & we video taped her 1st birthday. It is harder right after Christmas. She will be 4 this Dec.

My daughter's is the 31st December, it's good because I am always off work being a teacher and she will never be at school on the birthday. The bd thing is that it's 6 days after Christams so it's hard to know what to buy her. I have started spending less overall and buying her things around Easter time, she had a playhouse for the garden as summer toys are no good as Christmas or birthday gifts. Last year she had a trampoline in summer. We always struggle with friends not attending her parties, she had her 1st party on her birthday, her 2nd party in January and this year she'll be 3 and we are having her party on 29th December at a pub with play area at lunchtime so hopefully people will come.

My daughter's BDay is the 30th. This year we will start a new tradition for the holidays. The day after Thanksgiving Christmas decor is going up and on the 26th of Dec it will all be put away so at least at home the "holidays" will be over.

yes, i sort of do. the worst thing is i am going back to my work in july. gracie-mai is going to have her 1st bday on 11th decmber and we are not aloud anytime off in december as its the busiest month of the year. so for this year its on saturday and ive changed around my contract so i dont have to work it but i cant keep changing my contract for her birthday every year as its going to fall on different days each year. its soooooo complicate, and everyone moans that they have no money cz its near christmas. so i was also thinking about having her birthday at the begining of the month, she was suppoosed to be due november the 26th, but i went the full 2weeks over and had to be induced, otherwise i could of booked it off every year!

Well, my favorite time of year is Christmas, but I was hoping my daughter would be born a couple weeks before so her birthday would be a separate celebration. I got my wish. Her birthday is December 7. We can celebrate her birthday separately from Christmas so she still has 2 separate celebrations.

My birthday is on the 29th and I don't mind. It has never felt like I missed out on anything I always got to celebrate my birthday separate to christmas and always had family around to celebrate. I have now just had my first son and he was born on the 18th and yes it is close to christmas but we will always make sure he feels special on his day and make it all about him.

My baby girl was born on Christmas day! So for her first birthday we will be having a party the weekend before. When she is at school I will have a June 25th birthday party for her and explain to the mothers why I am doing it this way. The family stuff will be at christmas but will just have to work twice as hard to make it special for her.
As she was due on 12 December I was pretty upset wehn she was born on Christmas day then I just realised it makes her extra special as it was an additional blessing

My daughter was born CHRISTMAS DAY yes on the 25th of December so it's going to be really tough especially considering we have a split family so yeah!!
We are going to give her a 6month birthday so she gets some toys in the middle of the year

My twins were born on Christmas Eve, we are going to celebrate their birthday in the summer as I think it's hard enough for them to have to share their birthday with each other let alone having to have it combined with christmas as well!

my sons birthday is 24th dec so yes im dreading his birthday and christmas as they are so close together, i want to make sure that we celebrate his birthday each year and to make sure that we give him a separate birthday and christmas present
also our wedding anniversary is 22nd dec.
my only concern is that my best friend had her son on 17th dec and then another friend had a son on 21st dec and then me with my son 24th and we all have the same circle of friends so could be hard organising parties

my son was born on 31 dec.and i was feeling like that too for a while but then i thought that it is going to be great because its a time when the family is all together and i know they wont have other plans and can be there for his day. and it will never be boring for him either being new years eve.

absolutely not! my daughter was born on the 23rd, and i also have a december birthday. It is was what u make of it. It just makes that time of year all that more exciting! If you hate when her birthday is, then she will grow up feeling the same.

Well, my birthday is Dec 30th, and my daughter's birthday is Dec 31st, I've kinda already given up on doing anything extravagant for mines, ZI am fine with dinner and a night out. But as far as my daughter consider alot of people will be out of town or partying during that weekend, I plan on having her parties the weekend after, then when she gets a lil older, she will probably enjoy having it the same weekend.

I do! I have two kids with December birthdays. My son, Ashton, bday is Dec 23 and my daughter, Olivia, is Dec 17. It makes it hard to plan their parties and it seems like a lot at once both for me and the kids.

Mine were born Dec 31...my aunt keeps saying the same thing about it being so close to Christmas. I always liked that my birthday is in the spring because I would get new clothes/toys/etc in the winter and again in the spring for the summer. Not much fun getting a bike for Christmas when you live in WI.

my daughter was born on Dec. 24th but my due date was the 15th so by that point i didnt care when she was born i was so big and uncomfortable that i just needed her out. i will do anything to make sure her birthday is special for her

My baby was born on the 24th and I cant say I hate it yet but I can say I feel sorry for her considering its right next to Christmas I know for a fact that her birthdays and Christmas wont be that big and if anything we would have to plan her birthday at least 2 or maybe even 3 weeks before her birthday

Kinda bummed about my little girls being on the 29th, but we are going to just have a little family party then and then in the spring when everyone is together have a nice big party we hope to make it a tradition so she doesn't get robbed of gifts :)

My birthday is Dec. 27th and my babies is Dec. 30th. Growing up my mom always made sure to keep my birthday separate from Christmas but if I wanted a really big present I could combine my birthday and Christmas presents, plus you never have school on your birthday, so it's not all bad. And since I was extremely pregnant last year on my birthday, I'm gonna have a half year birthday celebration this summer!

My first little girl was born December 22nd and my second was due December 14th,but thankfully came two weeks early on December 1st.It is a little crappy so close to christmas but it means a whole month of celebrating!! :-)

My wee girl was due 15th Jan, but she decided she wanted a Christmas birthday and came 23rd Dec instead. Hoping to make her day special for her and not have any christmassy things, just birthday stuff. Be a bit difficult when she's older and wants parties but for her 1st birthday we're planning just a wee quiet family thing.

My oldest son is Jan 1, 2009 and my youngest son's birthday is December 30th, 2009. So not only do we have Christmas, but we have TWO birthdays to follow! Not sure how that's gonna go, but I hope we can keep everything separate, and the boy's will love it as they get older!

My son's is the 29th; and yes, I hate it. We havn't had to celebrate a birthday yet, but I'm already trying to figure out how I can make it his own special day so close to Christmas and New Years. Any suggestions on how to set it apart from all the holidays so he doesn't feel gypt?

At first I was a little unhappy about it, but then we came up with a few ideas. First off we have already bought all our daughter's birthday presents & put them away. That way we can focus on our son's birthday in September & Christmas the following months without making it unfair to her. Another idea, I've heard of people putting some gifts away & letting the child open one every 3 months or so. :)
When she's old enough we'll let her decide if she wants to go for the half birthday thing. But even that wouldn't be too much fun, as 3 of her cousins birthdays are in the same week. :p

My daughter was born on December 22nd. She was due on the 10th so I was hoping she would be born early, no such luck. I have a nephew that was born on the 21st and I have always made sure to see him and give him his gift before Christmas.

My first daughter was born on December 25. Personally, I was pretty disturbed on how many people said "Oh, poor baby! She has to have her birthday on Christmas." When I would reply, what is wrong with her birthday being on 12/25? Their response was usually, "well, she will not get as many gifts." Maybe I am wrong, but I grew up knowing that Christmas and Chanukah (we celebrate both) were not about the gifts. I would tell them... my daughter shares a birthday with the day we celebrate Jesus's birth. I think that is pretty cool.
My other daughter was born on December 1 (right after Thanksgiving), so, my entire month of December, I am celebrating. First is Thanksgiving, then DD#2, then Chanukah, then Winter Soloist, then Christmas Eve, then Christmas, then DD#1's birthday, then New Year's Eve. Yes, it is busy, but I only have to think about gifts one time a year.
Gifts for my girls birthdays will always be on sale b/c of the holiday, so that is score for me!
We have a party for DD#1's birthday on the weekend after New Years--VERY EASY to book a party room (score again for me!). We plan on having the party for DD#2 the weekend after Thanksgiving. EVERYONE IS HOME THIS TIME OF YEAR.

Our boy's birthday is at a horrible time. My wedding anniversery is Nov 21, my birthday is nov 23, then around that time is thanksgiving, followed by my son's birthday on Dec 1 and my husbands birthday on Dec 4! All of it in a two week period!

I have a 4 1/2 month old and a 2 year old whose birthdays are Dec. 20 and 21. I feel so bad that their birthdays are so close to Christmas and that it's in such a cold month too. Not only do they mostly only get one gift for birthday and Christmas combined but it's normally so cold that they wont get the traditional outdoor birthday party!
