Just wondering if anyone out there had an Episiotomy and had any complications. It's been over 16 months and still had pain. I just went to my doctor yesterday to have the problem corrected. I won't go through details, but wanted to know if anyone else had this problem and if the correction will work! I had twins and I still don't feel back to normal yet. My body constantly aches and I'm always exhausted. On top of that i've been dealing with pain and the inability to have a normal sex life again.

I had an episiotomy, but thankfully healed up within 8 - 10 weeks. So sorry to hear you've had such trouble! That has got to be absolutely miserable :(

It's ironic how my whole pregnancy I prayed to not have a C-section with my twins. I wanted a vaginal delivery because I knew I would be home alone a lot with my boys and wouldn't have any help while healing from a C-section. Now I kinda wish I had one. At least I'd be able to have sex! lol Got the stitches out today... it doesn't look like whatever she did solved the problem, going back in two weeks when it completely heals. I'm too young to not be able to have a sex life. She is a great doctor and dumbfounded why this happened. She's never seen it before. I only had 3 stitches from the epiosiotomy so it wasn't even a huge cut. I know this is too much info lol but I'm so stressed out about it, and having to hear about my kids fathers' sexual frustrations doesn't help our relationship at all! Maybe I'll buy him a blow up doll for Fathers days! lol

I feel your pain... its been 16 months for me too but i had a tear. I need to visit my doc soon cuz i hate living like this its so much pain!! Someone said tears heal faster, no they dont because the are secondary intention wounds the primary intention wounds (epesiotomy ) heals faster.

I didn't have an episiotomy, but for the achy muscles and exhaustion I would recommend you get your thyroid checked. After my second daughter I was feeling so old, achy, and tired; not at all like myself. I spoke with my Dr. and it turns out my thyroid function is low. I'm now on medication and feel sooo much better. I feel like myself again.

Awww that sounds sooo painful! Sorry you had to go through this... The ob-gyn's at the practice I go to do not perform many episiotomies, I was told that it is better to get a few tears then getting an episiotomy because the tears heal faster. My son was 9 lbs 6 oz at birth and I had a couple small tears and it healed just fine. Hope that they corrected the problem...

I didnt have a episiotomy but I tore pretty bad,I couldnt have enjoyable sex until my baby was a year old. It hurt and stung, and lube made it worse for some reason. I think alot of it was in my head knowing it was going to hurt.
I hope whatever you had done works and you start to feel better soon!

I ended up having an emergency episiotomy with no pain meds or anything it was horrible and for awhile after I had some problems with the incision tearing back open but I haven't had any problems recently with it...I still get back pain from an epidural though and I've had some other problems as well with my bladder. I'm pretty sure no one ever fully recovers from child birth lol. Hopefully more time will heal everything properly.

Aw, I feel for you hun! I had an empisiostomy, and luckily recovered quite well (nothing some lube during sex won't fix). I had other ongoing issues though in the anal area due to pushing for about 3 hours. I know what it's like to be in pain. I think I had slight PND as a result. It really gets you down and effects your quality of life. Hope the correction works, if not keep going back until they do something. Hope you have a good Dr.

I had an episiotomy with my first son as he was a huge baby with a double crown head. I did get an infection in the wound and ended up on very strong antibiotics and the area really did not have any feeling in at all for at least a year or more. I hope you start to feel better soon after the correction as this must of been getting you down.
