Hi fellow Mommas,
I guess I am looking for some advice, suggestions, comments...anything at this point really.
My son still wakes screaming (not just whimpering or crying)...screaming his little face off. There are numerous factors that may or may not be involved. (trust me I have tried the sleep books, theories, and training from 6 months and beyond). he has been sick 3 times already with pneumonia, twice with brochialitis, 4 of these llnesses involved hospital stays. He has asthma (or reactive airways as they call it at this age), and was treated for reflux until just 1 month ago when a Dr decided it was not the cause of his sleeping issues at all. He has seen a pediatric specialist, who sent him to an allergist, a GI Specialist, an occupational therapist who made sure he knew how to eat (because he doesnt eat either...if he eats one chicken nugget, or 4 peices of macaroni in one full day I deem that day a sucess!!!!), a naturopath, a chiropractor too. The Gi specialist and the allergist are ongoing and they are fighting to find a soloution.
But in the meantime my poor babes has everyone stumped. He cries throughout the night, waking a bare minimum of 5 times...but usually closer to ten. We console him back to sleep, and it all happens again in an hour. He is in his own room, his own big boy bed...all things we have tried to help. But this has been ongoing since birth...and quite frankly momma is running out of steam. Ive found courage and strength I never knew I had, when it comes to fighting for my son. But, Mommas,i am getting so damn tired. And my babes has dark circles around his eyes, at 23 months old :O( i would give anything in this whole wide world to take on myself, whatever is ailing my son...or to figure it out. i could go on and on...there are so many more details.
I just wanted to see, I guess, if anyone has been here before. His Drs tell me they have, but it is typically outgrown by 12-18 months. They claim they have never seen it at this age, not waking this frequent anyhow. They do believe something is wrong with my son, but say it is a process of elimination at this point...
Can anyone help us???
