My 7 1/2 month daughter seems to be teething, finally! but it seems awfull! She has an ear infection and does not sleep well. I have had problems with her sleeping for a while now, so we moved her into the bed ( I know, i know) because i am exhausted. Daddy works shifts so he is unable to help me and one night we counted that i got up 15 times for her. But now she is very mobile and when she wakes she moves around so i constantly have to be touching her to feel if she moves away. Now she is drooling alot and seems very clingy so i think she is finally ready to cut her teeth. Only she sleeps even less now and i am exhausted. Any advise?
How long will this last?

Funny - we kept waiting for our twins to cut teeth as they have been teething and putting everything in their mouth for months now. A couple weeks ago when they turned 8 1/2 months old, they both cut a tooth finally in the exact same spot and just a day apart from each other. One of our boys barely reacted to it, but our other child had a really hard time with it - crying on and off. I would definitely say that the way they reacted has a lot to do with their general temperaments as they are both wonderful boys, but one is much more sensitive than the other one. We also just followed typical protocol - teething toys, tylenol when it's been really bad....the little blankets or a cold cloth seem to help a lot too.

Our lil one is 8 months 2 weeks and is cutting her 4th tooth, her sleep pattern is all over the place, but her lil toothy pegs seem to be coming through pretty quick, I think this is down to using baby "bicky pegs" which you can buy at boots. These help to cut the tooth through. As for the pain, try using different teething gels rather than just the one as they can get used to the same one being used over and over, bonjela, dentinox and calgel are good, and powells powder form is good as it stays on the gum longer. A little calpol and iboprofen can be used too, try the calpol then 2 hours later the iboprofen. :)

My son was doing the same thing, orajel wasn't working at all. I totally recommend Hyland Teething Tablets. They are amazing! They dissolve in their mouths (I give my son 3 every 6 hours) and work fantastic!

My son started teething at 3 months and only finally cut them at 8 months. He had 4 coming in at once. I swear by Hyland"s Teething Tablets, found at baby's r us, k mart and target. As for him sleeping with me, my husband said no way, and I feel the same way. I'd rather get up 80 times at night then have him with me, but each their own.

My lil man got his first two teeth at 5 1/2 mths and his 3rd today (with another 3 ready to cut). He has been an absolute nightmare these last few days (now I know why). We've yet to find anything that helps completely but a combination of Hylands Teething Tablets, Teething Gel, Frozen Flannels and occassional Paracetamol will help us thru the day.

I am totally there with you Lilly has been teething since 3 months and we have our 6th through today she is only 8 months. I moved lill into bed with me as well daddy lives away working during the week and so it is a lot easier. Lill gets cranky and doesn't sleep. raising one end of her cott might help as being flat hurts more. using a baby pillow might also help by her head being raised. teething gel with no sugar is good and paracetamol works too and gets them some sleep too. it's a matter of keep going... some babies teeth constantly others on and off... as for time... well.. how long is a piece of string?

My son was drooling from 3 months until 7 1/2 months when he FINALLY cut his teeth. However, he didn't seem all that cranky. He's much worse when going through a growth spurt.
I was a cosleeper for a long time. I promise, it's a lot worse with them in your bed than in their own bed. They get used to having you to soothe them rather than learning to soothe themselves.
As far as actually cutting teeth is concerned, I have seen it take months (like my son) from when teething begins to just a couple of days.
GL! It will get better!

My son has 6 teeth. He cut the firs two at 6 mo, and the last 4 at 7 1/2 mo. He cut 3 in one day, and another the next day. The best thing is Hylands Teething Tablets. They are small white pills that melt instintally. I have seen them at Walgreens, and Target.

My little guy will b 8 months at the end of the week and he's got a little bump on the bottom jaw about to cut a tooth also. He has almost completely stopped taking daytime naps and I have a problem getting him to sleep at night some times. I have heard that once they start getting their teeth they will all follow and should only b a few weeks but u never no! I use teethers u put in the freezer, a number of different types of toys he can chew on, orajel wipes and tylenol for when it's super bad. I hope it all ends soon too!!
