Hi guys, feeling ten kicks in one hour or two hours is absolute rubbish concept. It will cause unnecessary anxiety and tension. My OB has told 10 MOVEMENTS IN A DAY. You can include wriggles , hiccups and even gentle flutters , or some hard press. My LO goes extremely quiet for few hours , probably after having a warm drink it would start moving. They go into deep sleep. He gets very active one day and quiet another. Dont let stress and anxiety to rule you. Jus stay calm and everything will go fine.Sometimes I never had moments for two hours.
I delivered mine lo bybthe grace of God. All is well , be optimistic , all you guys will deliver lovely babies

I have read all of the responses on this question and was very surprised. I am on my second pregnancy and had twins in the first. With them I felt NOTHING. Even early on when they had room. I asked my doctor about that and was told, sometimes women don't feel anything. I was on bed rest at around 26wks and still didn't feel a thing. I think that if you are truly worried, get checked out, but if you're going to your appts and everything is fine chill. Sometimes Drs tell you some info, but not all. By the way this baby is TOO ACTIVE. LOL

I dunno who told you that you need to feel 10 kicks per hour.... That'd drive you crazy counting all those movements all day!!

It's supposed to be at least 10 movements per day.

Sometimes babies do in fact move around in there all day, but we don't feel every little kick or punch or turn. There is still plenty of amniotic fluid for them to float around in too.

If you want to feel bubs move, drink a very cold drink. Always works for me :)

Hi :) Dont be worrying!! My midwife says as long as you feel about 10 sets of movements a day that your baby is fine!! If ya felt 10 movements every hour i would be worried that you are gonna have a hyper child and you ll never get sleep once they are born!! LOL!! If i dont feel my baby move for a while and i get worried i just have something to eat or poke her and she usually kicks back!! Hope this helps and stop worrying i find that once you relax and stop worrying about feeling them that they start moving!!!

hey! i live in australia and over here we are told if u dont feel the bby move in six hours thats we u should get worried and race to the hospital im 30 weeks and some times i dont feel my baby kick in two-three hours if i get worried i lay flat on my side on a bed or sofa and then roll from side to side then walk it off and that can help but my baby is usually just asleep so when i wake him up he isnt too happy about it...but just remember your baby is getting big so he/she doesnt have all that much room left anymore so dont be too worried unless it reaches six hours...GOOD LUCK!!!

my Dr. told me that you should feel your baby move at least once in every 24 hrs ........ our little one spends hours not moving sometimes, and other times he's very active, so it just depends:) I agree with Cassandra, sometimes he gets more active after I eat something.

hey, new to the site and saw this post. my lil girl doesn't move that much either, she loves to sleep and i think that they way she lays is also what makes it harder to feel. she holds her feet in her hands above her head most of the time, but when she uncurls i feel it like no other. i think she tends to sleep alot. normally she kicks a lot right before i go to bed and i'm okay knowing that she is at least moving. but if i just want to feel her move i drive around in the car and turn the base up, she likes the vibrations. i tell my boyfriend that she likes dancing, she's going to be a hand full, lol

I am 28 weeks today and am only feeling like maybe 2 movements an hour. My last pregnancy was pretty much like that. I believe it is because the baby is running out of room and of course it is harder to wiggle around. It is very important to tell your doctor if you don't feel any movement at all though. Raina

If only it worked that way... lol! I bet this little one is most active when I'm sleeping because I hardly feel it during the day and it's SUPER active when I'm trying to sleep and when I wake up in the mornings. I definitely do not regret making that trip though! I was going insane not knowing!

Wow, that is soooo scary. (The scenario you went through.) Yes, I have heard of it being too late... I feel horrible for those mothers. Yes, I also agree that if you truly feel like something is wrong the best solution is not to wait... go to the hospital!!! You will feel much better knowing everything is ok. Hopefully he is a deep sleeper when he is born, right? LOL....

Last week (26 weeks)I woke up feeling totally NOT pregnant anymore - I couldn't feel the baby or anything... I got really worried so I drank some coffee and laid down for about half an hour and felt nothing still. My hubby and I took a trip to the hospital and by an hour later I still hadn't felt anything, but it turns out all was okay - my baby must have just been in a deep sleep! It happens sometimes, and the nurse told me to have some cold water to drink and have something to eat... I think she suggested crackers, not 100% sure anymore. It's always better to make sure, because I was really worried and read a bunch of people's own stories where they had just waited and then it was too late... so sad :(

My baby naps for 1-2 hours at a time and then kicks me furiously at other times. I think every baby is different. Sometimes I try moving around, poking my stomach, or jiggling it when I feel anxious and want him to move. My public health nurse and midwife said that you only should be concerned if you can't get the baby to move with the changing positions and eating and prodding and all that.

Dont worry :) baby is probably sleeping when you are trying to count the movements, if you are freaking out...drink OJ..and if you are feeling rebelious (lol) eat a mars bar,my baby goes crazy after I have those two things!

I dont even notice him moving during the day and rarely at night, maybe it is due to having a 9 month old taking my attention at all times, or who knows! But dont you worry, as long as baby is moving a lot when you actually notice him things should be just fine! Ask your dr about it at your next appointment just to make sure you feel ok with things, its not fun worrying about that little one in there all the time, although I dontknow of any mom who doesnt worry 24/7 about their kids!! Congratulations on your baby! I will be 29 weeks on Monday with #3!

Hi Shauntel, I'm 28 weeks into my pregnancy with my 6th child and yep my baby stops moving for hours sometimes just like the rest of them. If I get worried I just poke them, that soon wakes them up and gets them kicking you again. Try not to worry so much. good luck and best wishes to you and your baby

Hi Shauntel,

I am 28 weeks today, and I feel like I notice more movements after I have a light snack. Sometimes during the day when I am moving around a lot, I don't notice as much movements. Also, some days I find that my son is more active than others... They have off days just like us I think :-) If you dont feel any movement after having something to eat and laying on your side, I would call the Doctor. He might want you to come in to the office or go to the E.R. just to hear the heartbeat, and to make you feel better. Hope this helps :-)
