Irregular periods after childbirth?

my baby was 10mnth. last 3mnths my periods was regular. but this month 2weeks crossed i dnt get periods. but i hav pain regularly before periods i wil get that pain. nw also i can feel that. but why no bleed? i hav some pain n stomach upset. ifeel restless

It actually only started yesterday, and it's stopped...it was so faint and slight...kept thinking my period was going to start. Most websites say it is old blood and nothing to be worried about. But thanks for the advice, I will go to the Doctor's if it happens again and no period....some women said that this happens to them a day or two before their period starts.

I just want to say as a mum to stillborn child, to all mothers with same tragedy that God never make mistakes and as soon we stop asking ourselves why me, we will be better quicker. We have little beautiful Angel in heaven which belongs to us and for that we should be greatfull. One day we will understand why this happens to us, everything happens for a reason.

Donna I think you should see your doctor. Brown discharge is never good. Better if they check.

I have not had a regular period since my son was born in October...I had one by taking a weeks worth of birth control then stopping...now two months later...badddd PMS...very slight brownish discharge when I wipe and moderate to severe cramping for last 2 weeks.

Hi I had my boy stillborn on 30.11.2012, I had same like you. I stop bleeding, but after I had same like you when wiping see some blood with discharge like not heavy enough to drop. This will go and you will have period. I had it like this. Everything needs to clear out slowly, don't worry. If you have more concerns ask your midwife. I guess your bereavement midwife still visits you. She should check for you.

hi im having the same problem i had my little boy 9 weeks ago but unfortunatly he was stillborn.. i finished bleeding from birth about 3-4 weeks ago, and now im having a brown sort of blood that only appears when i wipe its not even heavy enough to drip on to the pad its only when i wipe im not sure if this is my period but can some please help me, my friends say it is my period as i have sore boobs and upper back pain and stomach pains, but this is nothing like my other periods i used to have before i fell pregnant its so so light that im kind of thinking its not what do all you suggest. i would be very gratefull if some one can reply to my message x

My Doctor told me that it could take up to a year for your body to resume its normal menstrual cycle. I had my daughter 3 months ago and have yet to have a period. Also, if you are breastfeeding you may not get a period.

when you breast fed you wont have a period until you stop, when I stopped it took two months to start back

I can say im good sometimes it comes every moth sometimes in a month & a half but im normal been like before i had my baby but i had my period for 2weeks when i had my baby so it was much of time.

I had DS on Nov 8th, bled for about 6 weeks, and have had a period almost every month but my cycle is now 40+ days. I don't know if I'll ever be normal again!

My baby was born Dec 25 i bled for about 3 weeks and had the depo shot at my 6 week check up. Around 10 weeks i got a period that lasted almost 2 weeks. Most people i know on depo only get periods every 3 months with their next shot.

my son was born 3rd dec my postpartum bleed lasted two weeks and then ive had two periods, last one was 16th feb

i dont breastfeed because of complications so this cant be the cause!

any one know why i'm having irregular periods after giving birth?

i bled for 6 wks then got my first period when baby was 9 wks old and bled till she was 13.5wks old. I had an examination done to check for infection the week before last so need to check results - missed getting them due to easter break, but have stopped bleeding now and baby is 15wks tomorrow so sure all is fine just bodies recvering from birth i imagine.

i have an appointment this tuesday coming up and im going to get a full exam, i want to know is it the shot, is it because of the csection or what, because i cant go on bleeding everyday like this. When i was on the pill, i only bled when it was time and i might not have bled that whole week, maybe three days...idk, im going to get some answers!

i had mine on monday an i havent stopped bleeding since. it must be something to do with the birth as I had depo for 2 years before and my periods stopped. I hope I stop bleeding soon tho :( x

Hi my baby was born on Dec 5th, i bled for the six weeks and every day after that!!! HELP! Could it be that depo shot...anyone having this type of problem? Should i switch back to the pill or get it all out of my system until im regular again?????? And then get some other form of birthcontrol>>>!!!

my baby was born on the 1st of dec, i had one period on the week of the 7th of feb (my bday wk not happy lol) and had one this week!!! 2months later, but i have had the contrceptive pill so that might have something to do with it. are u ladies back on the contraception? x

if you are breast feeding they, it could be possibly that you will not have your periods until after you are completely done breastfeeding. they advise you of that chance, also depending on the birth control you are on. many of them affect your periods in way where its very light or none at all, just a couple possibilities!

with my last one I got back "regular" quickly with a period every 26 days but now with this one born Dec 2nd I have had one period and nothing since, pregnancy tst negative (thank goodness)

I still haven't had my period yet and my son was born on Dec 1st. I exclusively breastfeed and I know that can play a factor in it too. It takes awhile to get back on a regular cycle.

Same here, babies born 24th Dec, few weeks bleeding afterwards but nothing since. Here's hoping it's just my body recovering... I couldn't cope with more just yet!

I also bled for about 6 weeks after my son was born Dec 30 and I have had nothing since. I took 1 pregnancy test 2 or 3 weeks ago and it came back negative, I am going to take another in a week or 2 if it still doesnt come. Mine may be because I gained a lot of weight. The last time I gained a lot of weight I stopped having my period until I got back down to a more normal size.

Well now I'm worried cuz I'm the odd one. My baby was born December 22nd and I had 3 weeks of post partum bleeding but not a single period since. I'm breast feeding so that may have somthing to do with it. I too have taken a pregnancy test and it was negative...why haven't I had a period yet??

Hey, ladies! I'm in the same boat. I bled for 6 weeks after my son was born on Dec 22nd. 2 days later I got my period and 2 weeks after that, got it again. Now I'm expecting to get it because I haven't this month and nothing. Took a pregnancy test and turned out negative. I am really hoping it's just my body getting back to itself.....Hope with me, won't u..? LOL Nice to know I'm not the only one with irregular periods after childbirth though!!
