hey i live in australia and so of course we have had many days 40 plus degrees c. my son hates the heat so much even with the air con going. every time we go out in the car its a nightmare. my other son was born in april when it was a bit cooler (autumn) so this is new to me with a new born.

how have you n your bub gone and what have you done to cope?

Yes that's true Nikki lol. Feb is always Melbourne's hottest month, I reckon most of the time we get your weather after you're done with it lol. We had about 18 here today and raining and my boy has slept a lot better, he's actually slept most of the day! lol

I grew up in Brissy Maggie, lived there for 16 years without air con, so I know only too well haha. My first son was born there, but it was Winter. He was 5 months by the time Summer hit and lived in a singlet and nappy. It's good that your baby is sleeping at least ...

Try sunny brissy!! My sons not a happy chappy. He's sweating a lot. I don't know if you know but its uncommon to find an air con in Brisbane. :s But he's napping lots and sleeping well through the night infront of the fan.

Hi Nikki, where in Aus are you? I'm in Melbourne and we've had quite a bit of warm weather too. We have the evaporative air con, it seems to keep the place ok on the extreme days. I have found my 7 week old to get a little stressed, even with the air con on. He doesn't feed as much either (formula fed). I give him a bath with the water temp at 37c which seems to de stress him a little. He gets very clingy in the heat and it's horrible having sweaty body on body heat ... he's a big baby and perspires a little.

I try to get what I have to do done in the mornings, if it means going out in the car. I choose a Coles that has an underground car park, so that I'm not getting him in and out in the heat.

This is all new to me too, as my first son was a Winter baby lol.
