Its not the fact it gains weight, it contains salt and its harmful to babies as they can't digest it properly. It also doesnt have all vitamins in it like breastmilk and formula so definitely wait off till 1 yr old!

I would wait till around 1 year, what is the point in rushing? the formula stage is such a small part of your babys life.

i started my kids on whole milk at 9 months old with my dr's permission. they were all big kids & ate a healthy balance of food, so were getting all the nutrients they needed without formula. but i was told that a babies digestive tract is not mature enough until 9-12 months old to handle cow's milk.

definitely not till a year old. If you want to give your baby milk, give goats milk. It's components are almost exactly like breastmilk, so it's very safe.

I was told not til a year old for drinking it... but it was ok for things like mapshed potatoes, yogurt, and other dairy products, if your baby isnt allergic to dairy.
