i wouldn't give your baby any type of baby food. rice cereal is one thing but fruits is a bit much. especially if its giving him tummy problems. with my first two babies i started them on cereal around 3 to 4 months, then i started mixing in small amounts of fruits and veggies in the cereal around 5 to 6 months. their digestive system isnt prepared to break down those foods at this age. i always tell people the best thing is to ask your pediatrician. you can even call their office and speak to a nurse, they will tell you what is recommended for your childs age.

Yes, most doctors suggest 4-6 months. My son on the other hand has done ALL of the things they say he should before starting cereal EXCEPT for being younger than 4 months, we started giving him a LITTLE bit of cereal with a spoon and he has done good so far. He is 8 weeks old.

I think you're supposed to start cereal at like 3months and maybe add baby food at like 6 months but you shouldn't start with fruit you should start with vegetables if you start with sweet fruit you night have trouble getting him to eat bland vegetables.

Milk either breast or formula is all a baby needs till about 4 months. At thy time you can introduce cereal, and then from there veggies and fruits and last meats if you choose to do so. Call your pedi and they should have a schedule to guide you. Children to 4 months should have 2-4oz every 2-4hours of formula or breat milk. Good luck!

I totally agree. I have done maternity nursing and believe this to be too early. A babies internal organs are not mature enough till at least 4 months old.....if they are hungry check they are getting the required amount of milk before you resort to this option if I were you so you dont do any harm to your gorgeous lil one!

nooo defently not if you give a baby food too early they can develop allergies or can cause them problems. they dont need food till 4-6 months and even then you just start with the 'low-allergy' foods such as baby rice cereal, pumpkin apple etc.

I think it may be a little too early. I think most doctors suggest starting cereal at 4 months, then introducing fruit or vegs.
