All of the books say that around 5-6 months is the norm. So don't get discouraged and try not to compare your little one to others too much because she will do things on her own time :)

Yes,my son is 3 1/2 months old too and it does not roll from back to stomach or vice versa,unlike my other children when they were baby,maybe we should wait another month...

hi I have a 4 1/2mth old daughter. She is a very healthy 8kg baby (she was born big) & cannot roll over yt...which surprises me...however, she is started to sit up on her own & does her tummy cruches so she can get up from a lay down position. As someone said before, & which I agree...it does vary from baby to baby. I think they do what they like & what is comfortable for them. If you want you can join baby groups where they do different activites. I take my daughter to Gymbaroo. We do a class 1 arvo every wk & there we learn to interact with other babies, we also do different things such as exercise, learning to roll, singing, dancing, playing on different interactive equipment & even word/object association. Its good to start things like this with our babies while they are babies because it will teach them to be & keep active. You can also read up on how to teach your baby to roll & do it at home. Don't forget Tummy-Time & goodluck :)

My son is 3 1/2 months and just yesterday begin to roll over half way. Two weeks ago the doctor asked if he was rolling yet, and it wasnt. The doctor said its not a problem just some children start earlier..

my daughter is 3 months old and is not trying to roll over at all . she hates it on her tummy she just screams, she loves to sit up and look around.

My son is the same age, he's rolled over a few times but he doesn't quite have the hang of it. Development really is different for every baby and you should worry about it too much. My Aunt works in with baby's and told me that most babies don't roll until around 6 months. It does differ between babies that spend time in daycare vs a stay at home mom. Just because in day care they don't get the same one on one time they do with mommy [or older siblings].

If you're really concerned, I would talk to your doctor.

I know I am my little girl is 3 months almost 4 months and I can't get her to roll over she just laughs at me and bits on her hands when we lay down in the floor to play. My best friend just had a baby two months before me and her little girl was rolling over by 3 months. Should I be worried at all?

my little girl is almost 4 months and has only rolled herself over once and i missed it :( at the moment she rolls herslef onto her side but thats it i try to encourage her by puttin her on my bed and rollin her from one side of the bed to the other and she loves it. She has lots of tummy time but i think she gets bored after 10 mins probably cuz she cant see everythin properly lol

My little guy is almost 4 months - is not rolling over yet and absolutely hates tummy time, so I do not force him to do it, but still put him on his tummy to strengthen neck muscles. Makes me feel better that there are others around his age are not rolling over yet. He did once from tummy to back, but I think it was purely by accident, lol, he was pretty surprised. He will get there on his own time:)

Hello! I have a 3 1/2 month old and she's not rolling over on her own yet. We help her out just so she has an idea, but she has only pushed her self onto her side, but not all the way over. She gets enough tummy time at home as well as at the daycare. I think she will do it in her own time when she is ready. She LOVES to sit up and has just started to hold herself on her legs, with assistance from mom and dad, of course. You're baby will roll over when she is ready. All baby's develope at their own pace and no child is the same as another one. =)

My son is also 3 1/2 months old and is not rolling over yet. I think it is still too early for that! Talk to your public haelth nurse or your doctor. They have checklists for milestones for certain ages.

Every child is different. my daughter who is now 15 months old did not roll over until she was 5 months old and decided after doing it once she was not going to do it again. instead she stuffled her bum until she was facing the other way and she is developing just the same as everyone else. my son is now showing signs of the same thing. I lie him on his back and put a bright toy at the side of his face and he only moves one half of his body to get it. Dont worry tho, every child is different. Avah started sleeping the whole night at 10 months and Harlie started at 2 months.

My daughter will be 4mo. on the 17th and she is trying to roll over. She pushes herself up off of the floor or wherever she is laying at. I play with her and roll her over abd over and she is finally starting to get it I think.

my son has just turned 4 months and flips over every once in a while but to be honest i dont think he realises he does it. His legs just move about until he gets somewhere he likes lol, its quite amusing :)

my son is 14 weeks and can roll from his back onto his side, he is not overly fond of tummy time but we do try and have it each day. I did noticwe on his last tummy time he was holding his head really well.

My daughter started rolling from tummy to back when she was 2 1/2 months purley because she hated it on her tummy, now she doesnt mind it on her tummy she doesnt really do it anymore. She rolls from her back to side to side but thats bout it. I just put her down on her back and roll her from there to her tummy for tummytime in the hope shell pick up how to do it. Just have to wait for them to do it in their own time. She can wriggle herself round in circles on the ground the so shes not beached lol

Babies develope at their own rate.. maybe your daughter is doing something which your friends son isn't doing yet... don't worry they all develop and she'll be rolling before you know it (then you'll be in trouble) enjoy the time whilst you can. My 15 week isn't rolling yet and i'm not worried she will when she wants to.

My little guy was 6 weeks early so he may be behind but he was trying to roll at about a month old but now he is a back baby he even has a flat head because he won't lay on his side and screams on his belly. My son hopefully get it down soon right now I am still working on getting more control of his head so he can sit up. I wouldn't worry to much though babies learn at their own pace and maybe behind on this she will be a faster learner on other things. Just motivate and praise always

Jack has had belly time since the day we cme home from the hospital, the first time he rolled from belly to back he was 3 weeks 1 day old. he did it three times in less than 5 minutes and has done it steadally since then every time he gets on his belly but gets mad cause he did it! We are trying to teach him how to get back to front but he has only done that twice now. Sorry if my typing is bad tonight he is helping!

I have twins that are 3 and a half months old, one rolls over the other doesn't. I have noticed they are opposites as far as their development, one is cooing and talking but doesn't roll and is still a bobble head, the other is rolling, pushing herself up, and is steady with her head but has just started smiling and I just heard her "speak" for the first time Monday night.

My daughter is now 4 months and she has rolled over 3 times since she was 2 1/2 months. I have a friend who's son is a day younger than my daughter and he hasn't rolled over yet. However, he can hold himself up very well and stand on his feet for long periods of time whereas my daughter still bends her legs and can still be a little wobbly with her body. I have another friend who's daughter is 2 months older and she can sit up with a little support but hasn't rolled over yet either. They all can doe something that the other one can't. I was told that it isn't a race between them that they will all do it sometime but they learn these things differently from one another. Just keep giving your daughter tummy time frequently and she will learn. My daughter has only rolled from her stomach to her back not back to stomach which is harder to do for them.

My daughter is almost 4 months old. She doesn't roll either way. She doesn't like tummy time, although I put her down that way several times a day. I'm not really worried yet as I know each child is different. When I go to her 4 month doctors appointment I'll mention it but I'm sure the doctor will just tell me to give it more time. My daughter reaches many of the other milestones for her age. I'm sure there is nothing to worry about.

my daughter is nearlt 3 1/2 months and she has rolled on her side for about 2 weeks, she just started doing it when i put her to bed now she wont stop, i wouldnt worry she will do it in her own time.

Ayden could confidently roll from tummy to back at 2 months, by 3 months he could toll from back to belly. But like Kimberley's baby he'd prefer to be on his feet.......thank you Jolly Jumper :)

Tio is 4 months old today, he rolls from his front to side and side to his front he likes tummy time but much prefers to be up on his feet!!

The hardest part of parenting IMO is the comparing your baby with all other babies. It can drive you crazy! But I still do it, even though I know all babies develop differently. My son is 13 weeks today and has rolled over 2x but not on purpose and I don't even think he realized he did it himself. If your son is doing plenty of tummy time (good for you, my son is hardly ever on his tummy!) then don't worry, it will happen in time. He might be focusing on something else right now and putting all his energy into that. For my son, his attention span is spent on grabbing the toys above him and putting his thumb in his mouth. Everything else is just not important to him right now.

She HATES tummy time, but now lets me leave her that way a little longer because she has more control over her head. I am hopeful the rolling will start soon :)

My son just turned 3 months and does not roll over yet, only has done it in his sleep. My daughter who is now 17 months didn't roll over until she was 4 1/2 months old, and also had tons of tummy time. I think it is just different for every baby, and don't worry eventually she will roll over! Some kids just really enjoy that time on their tummy :)

My daughter will be 4 months on April 1 and does not roll over yet. She hates tummy time but I still do it until she cries! Every baby is different...she was born very premature, not in date, but in size (4 lbs, 15 ounces), but was 2 weeks early...so I put her two weeks behind......She will do it when she is ready...don't stress!

My 3 1/2 month old son does not roll over yet either. I noticed last week during tummy time that he was starting to turn his hips some, but his upper body stayed where it was. Maybe he will be rolling soon. :)

well my son is 3 months and 2 weeks and his not rolling over yet. I think is because he gained weight is that his too heavy..
when he was 1 month that he was slimmer he used to make the attemp to turn but not anymore..

do u by any chance put a towel under and show her byusing the towel to help her roll, i did this with my son a couple of time and i also play roll with him where i grad his legs and roll himonto his side. now my son is 3 1/2 months nearly 4 months and he can only roll to his side and back again.

I have a 3 1/2 mo old son that is not rolling over yet either. We have "tummy time" too but he always goes to sleep. Lol. Either that or gets mad. I'm not worried about it. It will happen soon enough. Right now I am enjoying every min of the baby faze. It goes by so fast! This is my 3rd (and final) baby...so my theory w him is to take it day by day and snuggle as much as possible. Once they're on the move it's hard to hold them still when you need a little sniff of that wonderful baby smell. haha

It varies with every baby. With my daughter, she started rolling at almost 4 months old, whereas my son started rolling at just over 6 weeks old. Don't worry until there is reason to worry.
