HI there. I am looking to see if anyone else is going through this.
My son is 8 months old and recently (the past few weeks) has been refusing
his bottle (he is formula fed).
He was eating 3 meals per day and also drinking about 20-24oz of formula.
However, lately, he is eating his 3 meals per day, but will only drink 16oz of formula per day.
Is that enough? I am worried he will get dehydrated. I have been giving him a sippy cup in the middle of the day with water and he will drink that. Advice? Thanks!

My daughter is 8 months and a week old and she somtimes refuses to drink a bottle...out of ehr 6oz bottle she may drink 3oz but then atleast she eats 3 oz of it. She wakes up between 8 and 9am. She has breakfast which is 3tbsp of oatmeal cereal mixed with a 6oz bottle(only use an oz to mix cereal) than she drinks the rest of bottle. For lunch she has chicken noodle soup with crackers and a yogurt then about an hour later has a 6oz bottle. At around 3 or 3:30 she has another 6oz bottle but sometimes will only drink 3oz of it then she has her supper at 5pm which is half jar of baby food which is usually a vege/meat and then she has a half jar of fruit for her dessert and if shes still hungry i give her some apple juice with water which she isnt a big fan of but i try, then at 8pm she has her last 6oz bottle and goes to sleep till the morning.

I am going through this also, except my 8mth old was eatting less than 16oz per day. My Ped told me as long as he is getting at LEAST 16oz of Formula a day, that is adequate..... they told me I could not get him to eat 16oz of formula, then I needed to cut out a Food Meal, to ensure he was hungry enough for a bottle... and so far it has worked out. I feed him a 6oz bottle when he wakes up, then breakfast, then around lunch time, he gets another 6oz bottle, and maybe a snack (if hes still fussy, I give him lunch) and then at dinner time, he gets his 3rd 6oz bottle and dinner..... Hope this helps...

Do what he wants. if you feel he is eating enough and he is gaining weight and eating well then don't worry about formula he can get all his vitamins etc from food, offer him more juicy fruits and vegs and water and/or juice and maybe introduce milk - soya or something if you are ok with allergies etc. If he's healthy no worries

oh ya, and if he likes water- offer him more of that! My baby girl went through a few weeks where she wouldn't drink much formula, but loved her water! She doesn't like juice either.

Especially if it's hot and I've had her outside, I always always offer her a bottle of plain water in the heat.

We were going through that also. He's done it on and off where he won't eat well. My doctor told me not to worry as long as he was eating his food, being offered water and drinking at least 12 oz. He started refusing his bottles again a couple of weeks ago. I was offering him 7 oz, 4 times a day. I decided to switch and now do 8oz, 3 times a day and it is working great!! Good luck!
