My 9 month old baby girl is not crawling. She just started about three weeks ago to get up on all fours and rock back and forth, but she doesn't crawl. She scoots backwards all the time, which I hear is normal, but isn't she supposed to be crawling forward by now? What do you think?

My son did not crawl on all 4's until he was 9 months. Previous he did the forward army belly crawl or was in reverse... he did this for about 2 months. I wouldn't worry too much as she will be crawling like crazy b4 u no it :)

My daughter just started crawling a week before month 10, I was worried too since her brothers were walking by now, but I just had to remind myself that each baby is different and goes at their own pace. Howeer once she started she doesn't stop lol

Every child is different, my daughter did the same as yours for a month and a half or so before she actually went forward. She even pulled herself up to standing before she crawled at all. I wouldn't worry too much about it, she'll do it when she's ready, or like others have said, she may just skip the crawling altogether.

There's a huge range of normal. My kid has no teeth, which is what's bugging me now. But she does crawl and even walks a little. It's all okay and in a year you probably won't be able to tell which kids crawled first.

My 19 month old never really crawled...she went straight to walking but that wasnt until a little after a year old. My 9 month old started to crawl right after she hit 8 months old. All babies are different though and will do things at their own time. Dont worry about it your little girl...she will do it in her own time.

My little girl just started, but my friend's son who is almost 10 months hasnt' started crawling yet. HIs mode of transportation is the butt scoot. He has not desire to crawl either. My best friend's daughter didn't actually crawl until she was in daycare at the age of 2 and that was because she saw other's do it. Instead she use to slither backwards like a snake.
Your dd may never crawl and instead go right to walking.

My wee girl is 9 months and two weeks and has only JUST started to crawl (as in today!). She's been on the verge of crawling for about a month, it's just taken her that long to work out the coordination of all those arms and legs! It's normal for them to move backwards to start with, so I wouldn't worry about it. Babies develop at different rates and the "normal" age that most babies start crawling is between 7-10 months (on average). My SIL's twin girls didn't start crawling until after 1 year, so it does vary. Be patient, she'll start crawling when she's ready =)

well babies will go when they are ready. My daughter started crawling early and has been developing early since birth but my best friend who has a baby only 12 days younger than mine, her baby didn't crawl until just a few weeks ago. babies grow at different rates and its ok. some babies will skip crawling and go straight to walking.

My 9 month old baby boy is not crawling at all!! He loves to stand and to walk when you hold his hands, but he cries when you put him on his tummy to crawl. I was also worried about it. I took him for his nine months injection and the sister at the clinic told me not to worry. Every baby has his/her own time.

He has plenty time to crawl. Don't worry! If he's not crawling by his 1st bday then you should worry and talk to his pediatrician.

I think she'll do it when she's ready or she may skip crawling, you never know.

My 9 month old started crawling just after the 9 month mark ... he's been crawling about a week now. He was up on his hands and knees for a few days and then the crawling started. My other son, who is 9 years now, was on his hands and knees for around a month and rocking, before he actually started crawling.
