Hi everyone-
Just curious as to what everyone's nap schedule is. Easton was born 12/15/09. He's been a good sleeper since 4 months. Currently, He wakes between 7-7:45am, naps at 9-10:30, (not always that long!), naps at 1-2:30, then occasionally for 30 minutes around 5pm or so. Bedtime is 7:30. Love to hear what you guys are doing!

Read On Becoming Babywise... If they wake from their nap crying... do not respond. they should go back to sleep to get a full nap... (1.5-2 hrs.) for a total day of sleep of 14-15 hours! It is extremely crucial to brain development for them to get their sleep. I learned with my first son that overstimulation can make them cranky or too hyper so they can't sleep. Also the body produces extra adrenalin when it is past nap time so they don't act tired. At this age they should be awake 2-3 hours, then nap for 1.5-2 hrs, repeat... Hope that helps! =0

Alyssa was born 12-29-09 and has always been a good sleeper, except the first 2 weeks when i brought her home she would wake up 2 or 3 times a night, but now she has her schedule and its pretty good. She's in bed between 8 and 8:30pm and will sleep till 9am, then shes up for about 3 or 4 hours then has a nap around 12:30 or 1pm for about 2 hours then is up till about 5 and has and hour nap then is in bed for the night at 8 or 8:30 pm..shes always been a great sleeper and its easier for me to get things done around the house

Just recently my little girl has settled into her own little pattern. She wakes up between 6-7 stays up for 2.5-3 hours then goes down for a nap this normally works out to be around 9-9:30ish then shes awake for about the same again and then another nap normally around 1-1:30 and another nap around 5:30-6pm all her naps are for at least 1 hour 15 mins even the late evening one. She wakes up from that last nap has her last bottle hangs out till bout half 8 and goes back to bed for the night. I tried dropping the last nap and putting her to bed early but we would be up every hour to two hours during the night. This way she seems well rested and only wakes once.

Alice (born 12/16/09) wakes up at 7:30 every morning, goes down somewhere between 9 and 10, lunch around 1230 or 1, naps after she's done eating, bottle around 5, naps until 7, dinner around 8 or 9, and bedtime is between 9:30 and 10:30. She gets tired real easily so sometimes she'll even take a power nap right before dinner. She sleeps through the night every night too.

Hi Sommer, My Evie (DOB 19.12.10) is doing nearly the same. Shes up at 5.30am (this hurts!) back down at 8- 10am . then back to sleep at about 12.30 for an 1 1/2hours. some times will get 21/2 hours in the arvo. try to put her down for a little sleep after tea ( around 5pm) This usually doesnt work. THen to bed about 7pm. Would love her to sleep until 6.30am. I think we are on about the same page.

my guy, born dec 22, wakes up at 7.15ish, down for his 1st nap at 10 am for an hour, down at 2 pm for an hour and then to bed at 7 pm. Teething will usually throw the schedule off and if he has to have a third little nap late in the afternoon, it's typical for him to go down crying and wake up crying 20 mins later.

Ben was born on the 9th of December and naps much the same. With learning so much, trying to crawl/ walk, he is very tired and ready for those power naps. I do get a good one out of him in the afternoon and then he is down by 8:30.

My daughter who was born 12/7/09 wakes up anywhere between 6:30 - 7:15, takes her next nap anywhere between 9:30-10:30 for an hour, then back down around 2:30 and 7:30 she will not go back to sleep until 10pm. If I try to put her to sleep before 10 then she won't sleep through the night.

My son Lukas was born 12/30/10. He has always been an OK sleeper MUCH BETTER than my 1st born. He goes to sleep around 8:30p and sleeps until 6a-7:30a! He will eat a bottle and will go back to sleep until 8:30a then he gets up for good! He will take only 1 nap @ 12 but it usually is until 2:30p-3p!

James was born on the 21st. He goes to sleep for the night around 8 and sleeps until 7. He goes down for his first nap at about 9:30-10 and sleeps for an hour and a half. His second nap is around 2-2:30 and he'll sleep for about two hours. He doesn't wake up to nurse overnight any more which is great and he's a peach during the day!

Hi Daisy was born Dec. 2, 2009 - She really isnt a napper. She usually goes to bed around 9:30/10pm. And she used to sleep all night (10 hrs w/o waking up) and now that she is teething, she has been waking up about 2 times and drinks a full bottle each time. When she does wake up for the day, she usually wakes up around 8:30/9am. The last few weeks, she has been sleeping thru the night and now waking up in the morning at 10am. If she does take a nap, they are usually 30 mins, but if you hold her she will sleep about 2 hours.

[deleted account]

Alice was born on the 3rd. She gets up around 7am. She is ready for a nap between 9 and 10, when she has a good hour at least. 2 if she gets the chance. She usually needs a nap again around 3 for another hour or 2. She's in bed by 8 and usually alseep by 8:30pm.

Hi! My son, Jett, was born on 12/11/09 and he's been a good sleeper since six months. His bed time is inbetween 8 and 9 p.m. and he normally wakes up between 7 and 8 a.m. He takes his morning nap from about 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Then he takes an afternoon nap from roughly 2 to 4 p.m. Sometimes a little earlier, sometimes a little later. If he takes an earlier nap occasionally he will take a short evening nap before bedtime!

Hi. My Benjamin was born 12-17. He just started sleeping through the night. Bedtime at around 6:30. Wakeup at around 6:00. Naps are 9-10:30 and 1-2:30...about. I don't let him sleep anywhere but his crib. It seems like the more sleep he gets the more sleep he wants. That's why we stick to an early bedtime.

Hi Sommer, last week Sam (8 mths) has started sleeping through, wakes 7-8am goes down about 9 and has been sleeping for 5 hours, he may/may not go down again for an hour or two in the afternoon (today he went down at 4.30 and is still asleep an hour later). He usually goes down about 8pm. I assume he must be growing as this is extreme. J :)

My daughter Gabriella was born Dec 17 2009. She wakes up between 6 and 630am. She naps for about 20 min around 930. Then her long nap is about an hour and a half around noon. Gabby will take about a 30 min nap in the late afternoon. Bedtime is between 8 and 9pm. What I dont understand is she is getting up a lot during the night 3-7 times. I am beat.

Olivia was born on the 31st and goes to bed between 7:30 and 8, sleeps through until 6 or 6:30 a.m., then down by 9:30 for a 30 min to 1 hr nap, and then another nap around 1:30 or 2, and that one is usually an hour to 2 hours. She's decided to give up the late afternoon nap, to my dismay. She obviously didn't take after me, because I love to sleep. :)

My twins were born on Dec 3 and wake around 630 - 730 then nap for an hour at about 10 and 1. They used to need a catnap around 4, but stopped taking it. They are in bed sound asleep around 7p.m. and sleep thru the night! Lucky for me they have slept soundly thru the night since they were 2 months old, it's a sanity saver with multiples!!

My daughter is 3 and is a total night owl just like me, she goes to bed at 11pm or 11 :30 and wakes up at 9:30 or 10:30am the next morn. My son was born 12/3/09 and he goes to bed at 10pm, wakes up around 3 to eat, then about 6 am, and then 9 or 9:30 am. I wish I could get him to stop waking up in the middle of the night to eat, but he has acid reflux and will only drink 3 to 6 oz before he goes to bed. Any suggestions on what I can do? He does get rice cereal with baby food in it, morning, afternoon and right before bed and we are starting to give him table food that we eat because he whines for it and has his 5th tooth coming in, so he does pretty well with it.

Rowan was born on xmas day, and has been a great sleeper, at 2 weeks old he was sleeping 6 hours, by a month old 8 hours through the night.
Now his schedule is bedtime at 9.30, although sometimes it will be 10 until he drops off. He will sleepstraight through till around 8 or 8.30, sometimes even 9! i try to avoid a morning nap now, because then he doesnt sleep his siesta well. if he does fall asleep in the morning, i wake him after15 minutes, normally he will have fell asleep in the car.
Then he will have his afternon nap at 1, and will sleep easily till 4, sometimes 5 ( like today)
I think i am lucky!

Well my daughter Chloe is 8 months old also born 12/23. She was a great sleeper until about 4 months and then her naps began to become more irregular- she would nap here and there sometime 1 per day, sometimes 2, sometimes none!!! I tried lots of different techniques- although I was never very good at letting her cry- the longest i let her cry for was 45 minutes. So now I am trying to get her on a regular nap schedule one at 9 ish and one at 1 ish. She is a great night sleeper and goes to bed around 7 then sleeps 12 hrs. I am praying this routine thing works as today she cried for 45 min. I comforted her then she cried for 30 min until finally i went and got her up. I am emotionally exhausted already so I hope it gets better. You sound like you are raising a great sleeper and have a nice routine already.

He Goes down for a nap 930-1000 and then again around 130-200 (again lately he hasn't been wanting to sleep at this naptime so been catnapping around 4pm. not sure why this week has change in routine)

My daughter was born on the 29-12 . She goes to bed at 7 and will wake due to teething infrequently, in the morning she'll wake anywhere from 6.30 - 8. then nap at around 10.30 for 45mins. The rest of the day we really play it by ear sometimes she'll nap again at 2.30 (but if she does its only for 15mins). Then she may have a nap at 5 for 10-15mins.I've found if she naps in the arvo she isn't the happiest at bed time. Nice to see other little ones sleeping habits. good post.

My little one was born December 9th and sounds like she is pretty much on the same nap schedule as yours! Her morning nap tends to be a little shorter and the afternoon one longer (sometimes 2 hours). If her afternoon one is longer she sometimes goes without the supper time cat nap, but usually she still needs it!

He has cereal and a fruit around 11 then has a nap at 11:30/12pm; it usually lasts for about 2 hours. He has a veggie after his nap. Takes a cat nap at 5, has a bath at 7, has cereal and a bottle at 8 then bedtime.

Kendall was born on the 31st and the only time she was a good sleeper was her first few weeks after she was born, now she goes to bed around 830-9, sometimes wakes up around 2ish and then will sleep till 7-730 (now shes teething though so were up more often at night), if she does sleep thru the night shes up at 5!! so I would really rather her wake up thru the night, she takes about 2 or so 1 hour naps a day, in the AM and in the afternoon...and a few cat naps here and there... I was spoiled by my 3 year old, she slept thru the night at 4 months would go to bed at 830 and sleep till 830 and take 2, 2+hour naps a day...so this is an adjustment:)

Ethan was born on the 13th. He gets up sometime between 7 and 7:30. He naps 9/9:30-11ish, then takes another nap around 1:30. He used to sleep for 2 hours in the afternoon, but now it's about an hour-and-a-half. He's up around 3pm and has dropped the late afternoon catnap. It's difficult because he gets cranky but absolutely refuses to sleep, so we run errands then. Being out and about is stimulating enough to keep him happy. Then, he's in bed for the night around 7/7:30. He usually sleeps through the night, but randomly wakes up around 2 am, cries a little bit then goes back to sleep on his own. I'm not sure what's up with that... teething? bad dreams? Who knows!
