One morning on around the 6th of December I decided to put my 11 month old son's milk/formula in his new straw cup (he has some for his water but bought a similar one for milk). Day 1 and he didn't have a bottle, Day 2 no bottle..and about 11-12 days later no bottles! I am stoked and didn't think it would be this easy. Anyone else found it easy? Or am I just lucky :-) Just curious! Cheers!

My son turned 1 on 12/31 and I went through 7 different sippy cups for a couple of days. Come to find out, it's because they had a hard spout. He went for the one with the silicone soft spout. So from the time I started on the sippy cup till he drank the whole thing, took me 3 days. BUT the first time I gave him the soft spout one he did throw a fit for a whole hour. Someone told me to do that otherwise he would always think "Well, if I throw a fit, mommy will give me the bottle." SO true.

My daughter turned 1 on December 8th and I just took away the bottle. I tried weening her off of the formula in the bottle by watering it down. She hasn't had a bottle in about a week, but she refuses to drink any milk out of the sippy cup. She'll drink water out of the sippy and some juice but refuses the milk. Any suggestions?

I still give my daughter bottles during the day and at night. I'm going to try regular cows milk during the day after reading these posts but i will still give her formula in her bottle if she wants it

My daughter turned 1 on dec 17 should I be trying to get her off of the bottle? I thought it was too soon.

we had our son off bottles at 11 months as well. We also got very lucky and he never took a binky! He does quiet well with the sippy and the cups with lids and straws. When its dinner time we like to try and give him just a little bit of water in a regular cup his size and he does okay with it so far!

Jennifer my little girl does the same thing it is so frustrating, she takes a sip from the sippy cup and then opens her mouth and either lets it dribble out or sprays it and she thinks it is so funny! At first I thought it was the sippy cup so I have now been through 3 different sippy cups and she does the same with all of them. Hopefully she will stop doing this soon.

I've just started giving my son formula/whole milk in his straw cup. Thanks for the praise! I am so proud of him - and he just did it all by himself. Those sippy/straw cups have been my life saver and makes life bit more easier

Nice! We've got Tyler down to one bottle a day (before bed), which we plan to give up once we finish the can of formula! I'm really nervous about it! Hopefully he'll do as well as your did! :)!

Our son likes to gurggle or spray water or whatever comes out of the sippy cup so I only put water in there now. Hes getting formula from the bottle still but I weaned him from breast to bottle a week ago. I've been trying the straw but it's not going well. I need to offer it more. He'll get it soon I bet.
