Tyler is now 5 1/2 weeks old and I can't remember when I stopped swaddling my 2 year old. I have sleep sacks ready to go. Are you still swaddling??

I still swaddle at 3 months, but, she's really strong and breaks out often. But, she cannot go to sleep without being swaddled (nighttime and naps) because she's a big flailer, so, we have to deal with it.

My little girl only wanted to be swaddled for the first 2 weeks. We called her the incredible hulk after that b/c she would push her arms so hard to break free that she would grunt and her face would turn red. We new it was time to swaddle no more

I didn't stop swaddling my first child untill he was about 6-7 months. He kind of let us know when he was ready.

My little girl is almost 3 months and she loves being swaddled... she'll be tired and cranky and as soon as I start to wrap her up she starts smiling at me and happily goes to sleep. I find it helps calm her down more than when her arms and legs are flying around. Having said that though, she generally manages to get her little arms out during the night and seems to prefer sleeping with them up by her face..

My son is almost 11 weeks old and he spends the majority of his day swaddled in a Woombie, he loves it! He sleeps all night in it and naps in it during the day, other than his feeding and tummy time he stays swaddled...because he is happier this way. I never swaddled my other two children so this is a first for me but I figure that he'll let me know when he is tired of it.

My son is 6 weeks old today and I just started swaddling him two weeks ago because he was having \issues going to sleep. He now sleeps great! he is sleeping 7-8 hrs at night. I if do not swaddle he swings his arms and knocks himself n the face.

"The Happiest Baby on the Block" by Dr. Karp talks about this. He suggests swaddling through the first 3 months.

Totally still swaddling, my baby is about 6 weeks old now and he sleeps soooo much better. We use the unescapable swaddle where we pin his arms before swaddling in a blanket. Some people swaddle until their babies are 9 months, it just depends on what works for the baby.

Thanks everyone! During the day, I just cover him, but at night he sleeps so well swaddled, I don't want to rock the boat!!

Mine's almost 5 weeks old and he wont sleep if I dont swaddle (wrap) him. He hates having his arms out. He doesn't know what to do with them and just swings them around in the air, looking all confused :o)

My first son I swaddled FOREVER because he slept so well when he was wrapped up tight. I think I swaddled him for 2 or 3 months. My Dec. 2009 boy, however, decided he hated being swaddled at about 1week. I haven't been able to wrap him since. He screams. Oy! :)

I only swaddled my little guy for the first couple of weeks. He wouldn't sleep after that if i swaddled him. My other two never got swaddled cause they didn't like it at all.
