My son is 7 weeks old now & has went from enfamil lipe regular to enfamil gentlease to now similac alimentum. The symptoms started with him throwing up like an exorcist, then mor & more fussyness & crying. Then straight water diarria for a week. I finally couldn't take him crying anymore, also i knew somthing was up, so we went to the ped. I explained what was going on the doc. asked if he had a snoty nose alot i said yeah a lil hear lately, I thought it was b/c of a cold. he then felt and touch and pressed my sons tummy then wrote a script for similac alimentum & said my son has a alergy to cows milk. I just wonder how does the doc. know that my son has an alergy just by what all he did during that examination??? I also wonder if this similac alimentum is really a good product for my son. So if any mothers out there can please let me know their thoughts, story & outcome it would really help out alot, I know I am a first time mother and worry ALOT so I thought this would help me out, maybe knock the edge off a little. Thanks to all of you whom will reply & may God Bless You!!!

My daughter had the same problem. They put her on a hypoallergenic amino acid based formula called Elecare. It took care of everything. :)

My son is currently on taht same forumula because he has an allergy to the cow's milk protein. every other formula i tried made him extremely gassy, fussy, and diareah really bad. once i switched him it all got better fo ra couple of weeks and hes now had 5 weeks of green watery poo, but our doctors here are idiots. I am now taking him up to see a GI specialist because there are different severeities to the allergy. I went online and researched cows milk protein allery. My son needs to go onto an amino acid based formula because he still can't digest the protein in the allimentium whcih sometimes happens.

Hi there mommy!

I have been using Similac Alimentum with my bby girl whos almos 2 months on the 18th and it seems to be better than the other formulas that i tried!!

My lil girl was having problems, she had colics and couldnt do #2 and qhen she i it was diarrea, she was throwing up a lot and also had a alergic reaction on her bby face that the doctor thought that it was some kind of baby acne, but thank god it wasnt!!

So he gave me a sample of similac aimentum and she hasnt had any of those problemos no more, so if you do wanna try it, is your choice, but let me tell you that its really a good formula!! ;)
