My daughter, whew! She use to take awesome naps throughout the day from birth until about 2 1/2 months and now...she really only catnaps. She will sleep for maybe 15-20 minutes and then will be up for 2 hours and then she will be ready for the next catnap. I've recently started to put her in her crib around 1pm and turning on her radio to sooth her and she usually puts herself to sleep and if I am lucky will sleep for about 2 hours then. All babies are different and need different things. Trying different techniques to see what works best for your baby is my advice, some need it quiet while others need white noise. For me that is exactly what my girl needed. Good luck!

I was having trouble with my son and naps. He'd catnap all day long, then I read an article about infant naps and it said at this age they need about 2 hours in between naps. I started putting him down 2 hours after each wake up time and it's worked well. I also put him down awake and letting him fall asleep on his own. He's doing so much better!
