What is your 5 month olds eating sleeping pattern?

My lil girl is all over the place, she was settling into a pattern and then she started teething and its all gone out the window. I would like her to have more of a routine but i dont beleive in imposing one on such a young baby. I wouldnt like to be told when I was hungry or tired. But rough time frames would be nice hehe. What sort of patterns or routines do your lil ones have eg, waking for day, feeding times throughout the day, napping times and bedtime?

my bub is all over the place too. he had a growth spurt at 4 months and came into bed with me to feed all day and all night, so now he is in that habit. he wont relax without me next to him, so he just goes to bed when i do. 10pm.. or so, until we go to bed he will sleep on my lap if he is tired.he's 6 months now and ive been introducing solids for the last 2weeks and so he is breastfeeding less during the day but breastfeeds alot at night.. he wont sleep throughout the day unless he is on my lap, as soon as i move or go to put him down he wakes.. so he just eats and sleeps whenever he yells at me.. he is my 2nd.. u think i wouldve learned from the first.. lol! oh well.. i know it wont last forever.. :)

My babs wakes up at 7 - 730am she gets her brekkie and then 9am back to bed until 10am, she sleeps from 11am to 12.45pm most days and then gets her lunch and then has a nap between 4 & 5 and then bed and bottle before 7pm although if she got her way it would be 6pm. She has been sleeping through the night since she was 4 weeks old. THANK GOD :)

My daughter will go to bed between 9-10pm and sleep until 9-10am (she's a good sleeper). She eats 6.5oz bottle every 4 hrs. She also usually takes a nap after being awake for a couple of hrs. She has a 30-45 min nap sometime after the 1st and 3rd bottle and a good 2.5-3 hr nap right after her 2nd bottle. Then it's bedtime right after her 4th and final bottle. We can't complain too much because she's pretty good with her sleeping and eating.

Seems like teething is a great problem for all babies....My girl is getting there too. I hope she won't change her feeding routine. She eats and sleeps well...only wakes up like twice during the night and sleeps long enough during the day. She also likes taking lots of water and fruits.

I've struggled to find a workable routine for my daughter since day one. She has ALWAYS been a terrible sleeper! I've seen health and sleep professionals and even they can't help me. Around a few weeks ago I finally started to get into a rhythm then the whole house got the flu (hubby is never to get the flu jab ever again!! lol). Now that we're all just about over it, I've worked out that if my daughter gets a really good sleep in the morning (from around 7:30am) for about 2 hrs the rest of the day she'll sleep. She used to get tired then I'd spend pretty much the whole day with a screaming baby! It didn't matter what I tried she just wouldn't sleep. My paediatrician told me to create a sleeping prop and when that works for around 6-8 weeks start to ease her out of it and into her cot. So for every sleep time she is wrapped then I hold her in my arms until she drifts off. I don't mind though 'cos she isn't screaming and I get through my favourite books!

I put mine to slep about 10:30 at night (I rock him to sleep) and he sleeps til somewhere between 2 & 4am. He eats then i put him to sleep with me til about 6 when boyfriend gets up to go to work. He plays til 8-9 and takes a nap from 10-11 and plays til abot 1 and eats, than plays til 4- takes a nap til daddy gets home, and then they play til bedtime.

Babies main source of nutrition should be breastmilk or formula for the first year, You shouldn't cut out any bottles and replace with food... Babies usually shouldn't have fruits or veggies til 6 months, in hopes that they won't develop allergies.

My LO is in bed between 8-9 pm and she has been getting up once at night to eat. She then wakes up between 7-8 am. She usually has her first nap around 9-9:30 am. She has two more naps, but they are sporadic depending on how long she sleeps for each of them. She usually eats after she wakes up.

My daughter is 5 months old and has been sleeping through the night for a couple months now. She usually goes to bed at 9 and is up at 7:30-8 in the morning. I would say she does a pretty good job.

My daughter sleeps from about 9:30 pm to 7:00 am straight through. She nurses about every 4 hours during the day and has cereal in the morning, fruit for lunch and a veggie for dinner. She naps about every 2 1/2 hrs, for about an hour. She's on a pretty good schedule, but she isn't teething yet.

My son will be 5 months in a few days. I tried feeding him the cereal but he absolutely hates it for some reason. So instead I've begun to give him fruits and veggies. He's doing GREAT on them too! He wakes around 7 to 7:30 in the mornings. I feed him a jar of apple cinnamon oats (2nd foods) and a jar of banana baby food (1st foods) around 9 or so. He will usually take a 15 minute nap afterwards. He takes a bottle around 11 and sleeps for about 30 minutes. Then he's up til around 1 or 2. I usually give him some fruit or melons in his chewy feeder thing since he's teething. Then around 1 or 2 I give him a bottle and he lays down til about 4 or 5. After he wakes up good I feed him a jar of veggies (2nd foods) and a jar of fruit (2nd foods). Then it's bathtime, tummy time, and playtime. Then off to bed around 8 or 8:30 with a bottle. Usually he takes around 10 ounces. He then wakes up around 1 or 2. I give him another 8 ounce bottle and he sleeps til around 6:30 or 7. He now weighs over 20 pds and is over 26 inches long...so he's getting plenty to eat...that's for sure! LOL

Thats the basics :)

My little boy was waking at 9 but is now ready for solids ( i wait until they show all the cues first, but i'm a second time mom so I dont do it all by "the book") He is up & nursing at 7:30, plays with his brother, nap at 9:30, up & nursing @ 11:30, plays, nap at 1:30 with his brother, up & nursing @ 3:30, plays until Daddy gets home, nap at 5:30, up @ 6:30(shorter nap), eats at 7:30, plays a little more, nurses and goes to bed @ 9ish. I only bathe 2x a week because he has eczema... so they are usually in the 1st morning playtime when he has one. He doesn't EVER wake up at night and is 85th percentile for weight. They don't need a mid-night feeding anymore. Routines are very important to help them figure out what is going on, but everyone's routine is a little different... find what works for you! =)

Generally I try and feed, play, sleep and his play time is extended quite rapidly. He eats with the family three times a day, and wakes once every night for a feed too. As soon as we move back to NZ he gets his own room, and I'll leave him to cry. He'll learn pretty quick (usually a week) what's what. One of you said "imposing a routine on one so young"? He's a happy baby for it, and so will you be. :)

Our little Alex, almost 6 months old, has a nice schedule.

Wakes @ 7 a.m
Eats cereal and a bottle @ 7:30 a.m.
Naps from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m.
Eats veggies and a bottle @ 11:30
Naps from 1 - 3 p.m.
Has a bottle @ 4 p.m.
Plays until 7p.m.
Eats cereal, bottle and fruit around 7ish
Plays some more and then
Bed by 9ish

He sleeps through the night.
He's cut two teeth in the last couple of days, but it doesn't seem to bother him. He just chews on his rubber giraffe "Sophie" and goes on with his day.
He is an awesome kiddo and never complains for anything.

teri- that is not true about rice cereal in the bottle. it is safe. my daughter has had rice cereal in her bottle since she was less than a month old, because of her acid reflux. we were told to do this by a few drs.

My little one wakes around 7 am, breastfeeds then eats cereal around 8:30, has a 40 minutes nap between 9 and 10, then has a bottle around 10:30, naps again around 12:30. (Sometimes this is a 2 hour nap, sometimes only 40 minutes, if it is a short one she usually goes for another one around 3:00) She has another bottle when she wakes up and usually another 40 minute nap between 4 and 5. She eats cereal and some veggies for dinner between 5 and 6 and finally has a bath, bottle and in bed around 7. I'm very lucky and she usually sleeps through the night. If she does wake it is usually around 5 am and I breastfeed her and she goes back down until 7 or 8.

Dylan was on a routine until he got sick and started to teeth. So now we are trying to get him back on a routine. He goes to be at 8:30 and then he sleeps until 3-3:30 and then wakes up to eat and go right back to sleep then he will wake up around 7:00 am and eats again. Around 10 he eats some rice cereal and nurses again and then he may take a short snooze. he is not a good napper we are working on that. He naps for 45mins if I am lucky and eats about every 3 hours throught the day. I realy want to get him back on a schedule soon.

My boy also has 4 bottles a day, 7:30, 11:30, 3:30 and 7:30. He naps from about 9:30 to 10:30 in the am and 12-2:30 in the afternoon has cereal at his first bottle and fruit and veggies with his 3:30 bottle. He is a very content baby and most of the time that he is awake he spends in his chair or stroller or jolly jumper and plays with his toys while I chase his 21 month old brother around!

We kinda have a routine tho... He is up @ around 7:30ish and has a bottle then, sometimes he will lay back down til 8:30 or so then he gets up and plays til about 10 or so when he will have a bottle with some cereal/fruit then he will nap on and off for a lil bit then eats again around 1 or 2 and keeps up the same routine til he eats dinner around 9=9:30 when he will have some veggies then its a bath, a small cereal bottle, then bed around 11:30... then back up around 7 or so

Well my little one Zack is now almost 5 months and he goes down to bed at 8:30 every night with out fail and sleeps till about 8:30 then he will eat about every three hours during the day naps at 10:30 -12:30 and again 3:00- 5:45...he sleeps a lot! no food yet other than milk but we will introduce it in about 3 weeks but not in a bottle because it is not safe to feed the rice cereal in the bottle this early. Starting out with a few spoon fulls before a bottle is the best way to start i have found, than way he will not be full and reject it. good luck routine is key I makes all the difference!!!

Otto gets up at about 7:00, he eats and then plays and jolly jumps. He has some rice cereal and fruit around 10:30 and then a bath at about 11:00. Then he eats and if I am lucky naps from about 12:00-2:00. Then he gets up and eats, plays, watches me clean and runs errands with me. Eats again around 5:00, again at 7:00. We start his bedime routine around 8:00 (massage, new outfit, reading a story) then he eats and goes to bed around 9:00. Usually he sleeps through until about 3:00, eats, and then back to sleep again until 5:00, eats, and back to sleep until 7:00. Sometimes I luck out and he sleeps through his 3:00 feeding.

My little mister will go down between the hours of 9pm-12am (hes a fighter). Then he wont actually wake up but he get VERY restless once or twice during the night and if walking him around doesnt get him back to sleep, i give him a bottle.. He's then up between the hours of 7am-10am (depending on when he went to sleep) and he'll take a cereal bottle then. I give him a bottle every 4hrs and stage 1 baby food 2xs a day (half and half). He'll do power naps and play during the day but by 8pm, lights are off and smooth music is on.

I also let my son give himself a schedule but I do try to get him to bed by 9:00. He'll usually sleep until 6:30 and then eats and sleeps with me for another hour or two. He usually eats every 2-3 hours and his naps are whenever but I try to put him down around noon and he'll sleep for 1-2 hours. He has been teething but it hasn't affected him yet.. We'll see if it stays that way!

I have my little one in bed by 9 pm.. through out the night he stirs around and I put his paci back in his mouth and he will go back to sleep. Around 5 in the morning he wakes up, but I put him in bed with me and he goes back to sleep till about 6:30-7. Then he is up for a feeding. Then around 8:30ish he will pass back out to about 10 or 11. Then time for another feeding.. so about every 3-3 1/2 hours he eats.. and in between naps or plays.
