Everytime I come home or leave the room my boyfriend has the baby watching tv. Normally cartoons. If I move him away or turn him around he cries. He really likes the tv. My boyfriend talks to him about the cartoon and he talks back. But that is soo young to be watchin tv. Should he be watching?? Is he too young??

I don't think he's really watching t.v. my daughter watches the t.v. to but I htink they just see the people moving and the colors don't worry and If he likes it take that thime to do something for yourself like take a bathe or have your "me" time!!!

By thoes terms my 1 week old is too. And he can't even focus that far yet. He just likes the lights and changing colors, it's no diffrence then him watching the light if the fan is on, or looking outside when the swing is moving and he's seeing sun and clouds.

Just be sure and offer lots of play and tummy time away from tv.

Yes there are studies about it but I wouldn't know where to find them - perhaps look on the internet or ask your childcare provider about it.

He does play with him alot! He takes him to the beach, tummy time at the local playhouse, he reads to him, and play with his toys. But after a while baby get overstimulated and wants to be left alone. So while my bf watches tv.. he sit him in the bumbo next to him and lets Kale watch tv too. I was just wondering is there were any studies about letting babies watch so early??

I personally think it is too young to be watching any tv. Research suggests it is best not to let babies watch any tv til they are two - easier said than done but i think there are plenty of better things such a young baby could be doing. If you really are concerned discuss with your boyfriend and encourage him to play with the baby and do other activities rather than encouraging a baby to become a couch potato!

Haha...I don't necessarily think your little one is watching the tv. My son loves the tv bc of the lights and colors, but he doesnt really watch it. He will go through spells where he likes it and then 20 mins later he'd rather roll around. He's be doing this since he was about 2 1/2 months old. It seems like what your bf has on is age appropriate so I wouldnt worry about it as long as your little one still gets a lot of activity and time without the tv on too.
