My little girl showed the signs of teething at 4mo, she refuses the the gel soothers, She much preferrs chewing her hand and sometimes a cool wet cotton washcloth, but has the occasional fever. Our ped recommended baby tylenol, but check with yours. She showed one than two bottom front teeth just after 4 mo. I was told that how early a baby gets teeth is determined on how early the baby's parents did. My mother-in-law said that my husband got his first tooth at 2 mo, so I figure that is why my small one is getting them now. I totally can sympathize with the calm one second and blood curdling scream the next, mine has done this too. Good Luck and it's good to know that I am not alone with my early teether.

My son also showed all the signs of teething at 4 months but didnt actually get his teeth till a few mmonths later. He really seemed to find chewing on a terry cloth towel to be soothing. Hope this helps.

My daughter showed all those signs at 4 months too. She's now 7 1/2 months and she doesn't have any teeth. If she's chewing on her hand a lot I give her a chilled teether. That seems to help. Do you see any teeth breaking through? My pediatrician said that babies can show symptoms of teething months before they actually get teeth.
