I don't know if anyone is familiar with Nextel Chirp? Well, my water was broke two hours before my daughter was born and we didn't have a chance to call anyone. My husband's father is an old crazy/ silly man and he chirped my husband's cell as the baby is coming ou "hey rich folk" "wassup?""hello?" once my daughter was out he chirped him back "wanna meet your new grand-daughter?"
All my father in law said was "I'l be there in a second and he is never at a loss for words?
Anyone else have a silly story?

yeah, the whole boy thing....had been told that the baby (via a scan) was a girl...so we had little pink going home outfits, all that....when i pushed bub out the midwife says to me 'look down and see what you've got' so i sort of looked down but not really looked as i was just catching my breath and she repeated it a bit more loudly....so i looked again, my son spread his legs and peed all over me. all i could was say oh my god, there's a penis...everyone was just about peeing themselves laughing at me. with my last baby, i was just sooo into that 'zone' you know...i knew that i had to push but was just so into it that i didn't open my eyes...when i did, i looked down and said crap, when did that happen....was really funny at that moment and was a fantastic end to a quick and lovely labour...!

There wasn't really anything funny about my delivery (emergency c-section after finding out my son was breech after the doctor broke water)... however, the trip to the hospital had one interesting note... we live about an hour and a half from where I was going to deliver and my contractions were coming about 3 or 4 minutes apart and lasting about 45 seconds... halfway to the hospital (at 10:30pm), I had to get my hubby to pull over to the side of the road so I could pee! Have any of you ever tried to squat to pee while having contractions on the side of the road???? It's really difficult! lol

I had quite a few people i know at the hospital in the room with me when i gave birth, and as i was progressing through labor, at some point my doctor decided to invite everyone to look at my exposed water bag, and at the moment a friend bent down and was right in front, my water broke, and shot her in the face!!!! I saw it going at her, and all i could do was cover my mouth and look away!!! She freaked out, and to this day is still VERY mad at my doctor!!!

I had been in the hospital for pre-term labor for nine days before I was sent back home. Four days later, at 2am as I took my dose of Meds that were supposed to keep me from going into labor again, I felt pain. When I thought I was having contractions, I woke my boyfriend up and said "Babe, I think I'm having contractions. We're going to the hospital so get your stuff ready for school in case I'm wrong." He replied "Ok," as he sat up. He then looked at me and said, "Wait... what am I doing?" I repeated myself and as we walked out the door he asked, "Where am I going?" At the Hospital, when the nurse announced that I would be having the baby that day, my boyfriend was sleeping. The nurse went right up to him and said, "Wake up, you do know your girlfriend is going to have a baby?!" He looked at her and said, "Well she isn't having it right this second. Leave me alone." lol. After he took a shower, he was better and completely pulled through for the delivery. Guess early morning labor can be a bit tough on Daddy. =]
