My wee boy had really bad eczema on his head. The docs gave me a steroid cream that worked realy well and cleared it up completely, only thing is, I was only allowed to use it on him for a week. NOw that I have stopped using this cream, it has came back and it is all red and swolled and flared up. The doctors told em to keep moisturising it with diprobase but this is not workin. Does anyone know what I can try myself or even know of anytnin I could ask the doc 4????

I have eczema too and it is bad on my hands and it runs in my family. So right from the start with my son I had to use something gentle and effective for us both when I was bathing him.I use Aleva hair and body wash then Aleva moisturizing emulsion.http://www.alevanaturals.com/
They have tea tree oil and lavender oil which really works and doesnt sting on raw skin. You can buy it at Walmart in the baby shampoo section. He has never had cradle cap or eczema and my hands healed up too.A lot of the soaps and moisturizers have petroleum products ,artificial fragrance ,colors and really drying ingredients in them. Its worth a shot.I also use safflower oil on top of the moisturizer to seal it in for my babies skin because it had linolatic acid which is found naturally in healthy skin.So does olive oil but that will leave a smell.I would suggest using a bit of the shampoo on a small part of his head to see if it heals up on its own.If it doesnt you should go back to the doctor again.I hope this works for you and your wee one Tasha.Good luck.

I find using lots and lots of a fragrance free moisturiser helps baby's eczema. Something like Aqueous Cream.
