You have to change his habits. He only knows how to fall asleep to the bottle. At 15 months he should be on the sippy cup. So I would get rid of all the bottles. Then still rock for awhile before bed, but you have to teach him how to put himself to sleep. This will take time and a few nights of crying. You can still do a cup of milk before bed, but you should be brushing his teeth after he drinks his milk before bed. Then when he wakes at night you can offer water only from the cup or a different kind of comfort item (blanket, stuffed animal). Often times they are waking out of habit not out of need for food. It will most likely take a few nights of crying because the bottle is the only way he knows how to put himself to sleep. You have to train him how to do it without the bottle and he is not going to like that at first. But once he figures out a new way then he will start sleep better.

You may want to try cluster feedings before bedtime.Like maybe 3 times in the last 2 hours before bed so you know for sure he is getting plenty of hind milk. You can wrap your worn shirt around a warm[not hot]waterbottle or heat pack so he has your scent and warmth to soothe him when he wakes up at night looking for you.You can try keeping the lights off doing a quick diaper change with no talking then too and gently pat or rub is bottom or belly. He may just want you to be there. Also here is a site that offers some more suggestions ...some of which I found worked. http://www.tribalbaby.org/Feedingtosleep...
Good luck Erika.

My daughter is 14 months old and doesn't sleep all night but she was getting up a lot more. I breastfed until she was 13 months old and then I switched her to whole milk and I think it is thicker so it keeps her full longer and she sleeps most of the night. She just gets up once now. To get her to go to sleep when she won't we turn on soft music and dance with her. Sometimes she falls asleep in five minutes and other times it takes longer but it always calms her down and she eventually falls asleep.
