Any tips to help my 3 1/2 month old sleep through the night. I know he can do it, he's done it once.

Quoting Ashley:

try to swaddle him. my daughter is 7 months and everynight we wrap her up and make sure she cant get out of it. give her a bottle and she goes to sleep. when he wakes up make sure you have a bottle or pacifier readya nd give it to him, he should go right back to sleep. my daughter goes to sleep at about 9. and wakes up at like 6 or 7.

I have been told by my midwife that swaddling is not recommended anymore here in England when my baby was born 3 months ago as a baby keeps cool by raising there arms above there head and a swaddled baby cant do that.

Okay put your baby in a very strict routine especially at bed time and it should help.

I feed my 2mo. old daughter formula in between 9-10pm each night and make sure she has a clean diaper on and she sleeps through the night. She also has o be snuggled tight in her bed. :)

Most doctors will tell you not to, but I add 1 tsp of rice cereal to my sons bed time bottle, you will need to get a cereal nipple for the bottle, or make it very runny and give it to him by spoon along with his bottle...my son sleeps anywhere from 8-11 hours...also if he "fusses" don't get him right away, wait until he is "crying"...he may fuss himself back to sleep!!!

My little girl is 6 months old and does really well when she stays on her schedule. One thing I found that's amazing is called the Magic Merlin sleep suit. She's too strong to swaddle now. She'll get right out of it no matter how tight I make it and she would wake herself up by flailing her arms in her sleep. She can't do that in this sleep suit and she sleeps through the night. It's wonderful! She looks like the Michelin man or like she's in a snowsuit. It does look funny but it works!

hey there...well i also agree with some of the other moms..routine is important i usaull give my daughter who is 7 months a warm bath then i give her a warm bottle witha lil cereal and i do this around nine she sleeps till usually six to seven the next morning...

I agree with having a schedule. My son was around 3 months old when I started giving him less and less for the middle of the night bottle until he was completely weaned. Then, I started putting him to bed earlier and earlier. Now, he's 6 months old and sleeps from 8:30 to 6:30-7am straight. He might have his moments that he wakes up in the middle of the night from a bad dream or teething pains. Otherwise, he sleeps like a gem!

ya right now he goes to bed at 10, wakes up around 3am, i feed him again and he goes back to sleep until 7. its ok, but i know he can do better. Last night for instance, he went to sleep at 10... didnt wake up until 6:30am.. and i gave him a bottle and he went back to sleep until 9:30... that was amazing. And i didnt do anything different... so I just wanted everyones feedback.

Thanks everyone, its helping :)
