Depending on the age, my LO is on Losec but that requires a prescription. I keep her upright for 20mins after every feed, even at night.. She has a wedge in her cot, I put her on her left side to sleep after feeds.. I don't pat her back to burp her, just sit her upright with a straight back and allow it to come up. the C shape brings up the wind without the pat.

After feeding formula or baby food have your baby in the upright position for atleast an hour so that the food can be digested first. Also you can put a wedge under the head of the matress crib to help the acid stay down and not sit in the esophogus.
