my son is one month old, and I have really deep and really promininent straech marks on my belly, thighs, and boobs. I have always been really thin, and only gained 25 lbs during pregnancy, my son was 9lbs and 9 oz. my skin realllly streched out, I look like a tiger! ahh! i know the feeling of frustration, im using bio oil to try to get mine to lighten. but i know it takes time.. its just sad i want to don my bikini! good luck!

My son is only 11 wks old. I never had stretch marks during my actual pregnancy. I had a goregous belly I thought I had escaped the battle scars so to speak! :0) Oh well. He is so worth it. I kinda figured I'd be a little SOL. Thanks everyone though for all your responses :0)

I was cursed with the stretch marks as well. I use bio oil and Vitamin E capsules straight from the vitamin store. I also go tanning which has helped A LOT for my stretch marks. They are virtually invisible now!

I have purple stretch marks. I've had them since I got pregnant with my first who is now 5, and ever since my second was born they've shrunk up quite a bit, and just started turning a silvery color. Mine started shrinking when I started working out a lot. But everybody is different.

Has anyone had laser surgery??? Just wondering about the cost? Ive heard so many people say to get it but no one ever said how much it costs

maybe get one of those spray on tans, or there is the camouflage makeup that you can get...i haven't tried that but i am planning on using it when i get my preggy pictures this year.

My doctor says tanning will make them worse, for sure don't tan them before it' been a year since the baby was out.

I heard that tanning will help cover them up abit. i cant really speak from experience, but its worth a try =)

as much as you will hate to hear it, there is really nothing you can do to remove them completely. believe me i have tried almost everything! (haven't tried laser surgery yet tho) mine where huge and purple when i was preg and they did fade to a slightly pink colour and shrink a bit (but now im preg again and they are all getting darker...blah) i will tell you that i am using bio-oil and i think it is actually helping to fade them a tiny bit, but i really doubt that it will make them go away lol but it's nice to dream :)

I have some really nasty ones, for the last six years and eventually they've began fading, but to my skin color.. I've been told they will NEVER go away, I also have those nasty skin tags on my underarms, I got two per child. Those won't go away either. I call them my Mommy war wounds..

How long has it been since you gave birth? They'll fade over time to a silvery color. And they'll shrink up a bit. But unless you have laser surgery to remove them, they're with you.

Stretch marks are scars that happen when your skin is stretched past its point of elasticity.
