it's normal and doesn't bother them like it does us. I think they're starting to bother my daughter now though because she'll start fussing when she gets them. She's 6 weeks, but it's completely normal.

my little boy constantly gets hiccups .. not so bad now he's getting older..(4months now)

my mum says leave him and they'll go .. but it takes ages and he gets pretty fustrated as he gets spasms when he gets them ..

so we've been giving him gripe water since he was tiny (it says 1 month .. but we gave him a tiny amount at first) ... it usually helps stop them.

ya my son got them quite a bit when he was newborn. when i was pregnant for him i always knew when he had them, i could feel it. he used to get soo upset with them, as soon as they'd start he'd start crying. they do grow out of it though so no worries its normal

My daughter is 7 months old now when she was a newborn though she used to get hiccups all the time, it stopped around 4 or 5 months though. But it wasn't true for her that the hiccups don't bother babies. Everytime she got the hiccups she started crying. I'm so glad she doesn't get the hiccups very often anymore.

My little one is now 4 mons and still gets them all the time, especially after eatting. His dr said that one of the purpose of hiccups early on is to exercise their little lungs, and eventually it will get so that he only has them after eatting while he is digesting, and eventually as his system matures he won't even have them then. Don't worry about it.

My doctor said baby hiccups are normal and that they do not bother the baby. My daughter is 2 months old now and gets them all the time - I hate when she gets them, but she seems like she could care less.

My son had hiccups ALL the time when he was that little. Sometimes so violently that his whole body would shake. But my pediatrician said that that's very normal & common and that it doesn't bother them. And it's true that my son didn't seem bothered at all (it just bothered me).
