My two month baby girl just got her shots. First of all she did so good she didn't get a fever and was not even irritable. Here's the problem though, she has these huge knots in her thighs were the shos went in. How do I get them out? She won't even let us rub them out and I can't find a heat compress for kids.

My daughter had them at her shots and I just left them... its to cold here to use anything to do with water cause it goes ice cold and they are to painful to touch..

I would not massage, that tends to not really help and just make baby more upset. I took a wash rag and used hot water to warm it and used that. I also gave tylenol for inflammation and pain....

Hope this helps!!

I would use a cold damp flannel on the shot spots rather than rubbing the spot - that will make the area feel worse. I have gently patted on anti-flammatory cream (arnica etc) on the area for my son every couple of hours and that has helped.

If you can't massage them, I suggest warming up a damp towel and using that as a compress. Worked great for my lil' one! Hope that helps!
