My boyfriend is hispanic and I am caucasian. He wants a hispanic name for our first child together, which is fine, but he is coming up with some that are really out there in my opinion. I want something that is more in the middle that we can agree on.

Thanks! Actually this may sound silly but we aren't pregnant yet. We are just planning and I guess very excited. Every time the subject comes up, he picks some very out there names that I would NOT name my child. I love the idea of having a hispanic name as the last name is Martinez! But I need some ideas that meet in the middle of normallcy...

i had the same problem when i was pregnant. my husband is mexican and i am VERY caucasian and we wanted something that wouldn't sound silly with our last name (santana). do you know if you are having a boy or a girl yet? we didn't really settle on a traditional name, since our daughter is named after my grandmother and myself, but we are very happy with the name we picked: Elizabeth Lynn Santana. maybe try to go back in his family and find somebody that he admires or a name he likes. also, on some of the baby anme websites you can narrow your search by ethnicity. it's kinda cool. i would suggest that. find a bunch of names that you like and take them to him. or search together. then you will have a good compromise. best of luckl!
