My son was on Similac Advance, but was switched to Similac Sensitive by his Pediatrician about a month or so ago. He has been puking up his formula a lot lately. He hasn't pooped since Thursday. He has his 2 month check up on Friday. I am so worried about his little tummy. Any advice?

Oh and my little nephew was on it when she was substituting from breastfeeding and he would have bad diarrhea and spit up every bottle when he drank the stuff, so she switched to!!

Similac is horrible, my daughter did the same thing on it and I switched her to Enfamil A+ she's on the regular Enfamil now that she's older tho. I've herd from MANY moms how bad similac is....My daughter use to projectile vomit from it. More than once a day :(

That baby needs to poop! Feel his stomach to see if it is firm and distended. If it is, take him to the doctor. More than likely he is puking because his system is backed up. You can try gently inserting a rectal thermometer into his rectum and stimulating his his rectal sphyncter to help him have the urge to poop. If he doesnt poop soon his doctor needs to know.

I had the same problem!! I breastfeed exclusively for the first 9 weeks, until I had to go back to work, and then I switched to formula..I went through soo many. My daughter would not poop for days, spit up crazy amounts of formula and had bad gas/tummy issues. I switched to soy formula, and she has been doing sooo much better. She must have some sensitivity to milk I guess. The DR had me try sensitive formula as well, but it didn't work. I tried soy on my own and she is doing good :) Good luck!!!

Quoting Emma:

I would call your doc and try and get in before Friday. Why did you switch his formula? Could he be allergic to milk products? You might just need for him to be on a soy based formula instead,

We asked the pediatircian about his formula because he wouldnt eat very much of his bottles and was very fussy and very gassy so she said he needed to be on Similac Senstive...

Awww, I know about the sensitive tummy issues. My son is 2 now but he was put on Similac Alimentum. It's tuff going through the whole trying to figure out what works with him phase. Hang in there and if you feel like he's not getting any better by Friday, the I would definitely call the dr before then. Mother's instinct is always the correct one so you stick to your guns if you feel something! Hang in there :-)
