My 5 month old has had diarrhea for almost a week now, I took her to the doctor after 24 hours and they said that as long as she has no fever and isn't lethargic just give her fluids. I've been giving her pedialyte in addition to her regular feedings (she's breast fed) and it doesn't seem to be helping. I've been recently reminded that i've switched from grocerystore meats to meat from the butchershoppe, and that includdes buffalo. Could that be what's causing my daughter's diarrhea?

I don't think you'd be causing her it unless your feeding it to her?? She could be teething which could very well be causing it. Feel her gums for any bumps. Also something little that you may not think of but I found when I traveled to my parents house was that just changing the water of my son's formula gave him diarrhea the entire time we were there and finally went away when we came back home and changed his water back. Just think of things which you have changed for him. The smallest things could be affecting it.

If your still worried go ahead and call the dr again. You are probably not responsible but it is a horrible feeling to think you could be. So tell your self that it is not bothering the dr to call him again after all it is his job to make sure that there is nothing wrong.

I don't think that would be it (if there was something wrong with the meat it should make you sick as well), but it wouldn't hurt to stop eating it for a while to see if that helps. The only way I can tell baby poo is diarrhea is by the smell. Are you sure it's diarrhea? Have you started her on any solids...some foods can cause diarrhea. If you believe it really is diarrhea I would call the dr again. I've heard that in some cases teething can cause this, but it's always best to get it checked out to be sure.
