Do you love your baby's swing?

Are any mommies out there actually happy with their baby swing? We have a Graco Lovin Hug that we loved...until the motor died after 5 months. Got a no-questions-asked replacement motor from Graco, and one month later, it died too. Specs say the swing is good up to 30lbs (Emma is 17lbs). WTF?! We're considering a new swing vs. routine replacement motors.

I have a Graco Melbourne Swing and my son loves it. He is 4 months old and has been using it since he got home from the hospital. I will say that it swings much better if you give it a put to get started, instead of letting the motor gear up.

I have a Fisher Price Nature's Touch Cradle Swing. Absolutely love it. My daughter loves it as well. It was a hand-me-down from my sister. It survived 2 kids with her and I have had it for about 5 months and its still working great.

I have the same swing you do (well, swings for our twins). Someone warned me the motor would die out if you didn't push it to start. If you only hit the power button and have it move on it's own, the motor dies. Give it a push each time and the motor should last. Our boys are nine months old and our swings are doing fine.

I also have the fisherprice papasan swing and my 3 month old LOVES it! She doesn't nap very well in her crib but I put her in her swing and in less than 5 minutes she it out! I would definitely recommend it to any new parent! The only down side it that I can not plug it in so we go through a lot of batteries.

Quoting Tory:

I agree about the rainforest swing. It may be hard to find because they've changed styles. The new one is now the "precious planet" which is basically the same model. It can run on batteries OR has a power adapter. I have never used batteries in it, which is great b/c everything else needs them. The seat can swivel so that they rock from side to side and front to back.My daughter loves the mobile and there are several sound options.

i definately have to agree with you on this one! my son loves his swing and i love the fact that we can plug it in. like you i have never had to use batteries in it and the way  my son uses it we would be broke buying batteries.

Have you thought about getting a push swing instead of one using batteries/power? We got a 1-2-3 swing - it is hard plastic and is suitable from when baby can hold his head up until about 5 years old. It has three parts so you can adapt it to fit them as they grow. Our son used to spend an hour in it each day!

I have the fisherpiece papison swing it is boppy shaped. it has a canopy. It has butterfly shapped lights at the top and butterflies that spin. it has 4 differnet music settings.... it can plug in or battery... you can turn the lights and spinning butterlies on and off and of course it swings two differnt ways. It is the coolest thing ever. My premmie loved it as it was very comforting to her. She is 3 months old and spends a good portion of her day in her swing (when we aren't holding her). She also has GERD so it comforts her sore little belly too. I love my swing and I would recomend it to everyone... P.S. I bought it off someone else who used it for the first year so it is used and still working.... Also my sister in law bought this one as well per my recomendations for her son.... he loves it too...

We love our Graco Sweetpeace. We like that it swings level and that our Graco infant seat can be changed out with the regular seat if she falls asleep in the car or spits up and the cover of the regular seat needs to be washed. It's also really easy to clean.
