Does a 7 and a half month old need food or is milk enough?

My daughter is 7 and a half months old. She has been having food since she was about 5 months and would eat anything I gave her. The last 3 days she has refused to eat anything I have tried all her favourite things but she spits them out. She is drinking 4 bottles of milk a day with 6oz in each is this enough? She is a very happy baby and still is, the only change i've noticied is her having an extra nap each day.

I will still try to feed her at every meal but just wanted some advice if she is getting enough from the milk

My daughter is the same age and is not on solids. She's exclusively breastfed. We're doing baby led weaning onto solids. She'll probably eat some in the next few months because we've tried recently and she's just not into it yet.

Your baby is old enough to start on baby food. Try the veggies before the fruits.Enjoy your baby and Happy Holidays

After 6 months it's important to start them on solids, not just for nutrition, but also for development of mouth, jaw and tongue. They all go through periods where they prefer solids over milk or milk over solids, but persevere, it will pass. Just offer lots of variety - try some finger foods too :)

Nutritionally all babies need for the first year is breastmilk/formula. As for the amount it depends on her age/weight so you might check with your pedi to be sure on that.

babies do go through times when they wont eat, but as long as shes ither having food or milk and shes happy then its fine, id only be concerned if she became ill or went off her milk as well. shell eat again when she wants too! shame we couldnt see you today! x

I have read several times that babies could actually go one full year on breastmilk/formula alone, but that we feed earlier basically for practise, just because they're getting older. The lack of iron that is mentioned isn't really that big of deal as most baby food doesn't really contain that much anyway. I think you're just fine, considering this is likely a temporary thing anyway :)

She may be happy, but she may have a sore throat... if it continues for 3 days I would take her to the doctor.

i work with children and i would say if she is happy she should be ok and was always told never to force a baby if thy do not want to eat. but it is may worth asking your doctor or health visitor and see what they can advise you to do . they are always there to help thats what they get paid for.
