If he wants a bottle, he's probably going through a growth spurt and is extra hungry. Have you tried feeding him a big meal of cereal before bed?
Otherwise, it could be that he thinks he needs something in his mouth to be able to fall asleep. Try to get into the practice of gently removing the bottle before he falls completely asleep, so he learns he can fall asleep without sucking. If he gets upset, of course, don't force the issue.
I think it is very common for their sleeping habits to completely change once they get past the new-born stage.

Ooops! I mean try to give the baby tylenol or something a little bit before you put the baby to sleep

If you think it may be the teething, try giving the baby tylenol ro something. When ever I thought my son was sleepy after I fed/changed/played with him, I put him in the crib. He cried everynow & then but he eventually fell asleep. It was hard to hear him cry but but he fell asleep and got on schedule. I t didn't take long
