Has anyone used Nasal drops for congestion? If so, what brand and how did you like it (effective?)

Bethany is sick and very congested. I'm needing some sort of decongestant other than "Baby Vicks". She's only 3 1/2 months old.

Saline drops are always our first stop. But, when Lex's nose got extremely congested, the doctor recommended using Afrin - 1 drop in each nostril twice a day for 3-5 days. Make sure you turn it upside down so it drips out, rather than the spray. It really helps. Just make sure you don't use it for very long or the baby could become dependent upon it. We usually only use it when absolutely necessary and saline isn't working any more.

I used Little Noses on my son, and it worked great! I like that brand because there isn't medicine in it, so you can't overdo it...

I used Little Noses too. It worked well. My daughter hated it at first, but then she realized it helps her out, so now she doesn't mind it. I used these drops when she was less than 3 months old.

I use the aspirator on my baby first, then use Triaminic Saline drops, works wonders!

We use Hydrasense Baby on our son when gets congested. You can also use the next step up that has a bit stronger of a stream.... it won't hurt your baby. We never had any luck with a nasal asperator, but the Hydrasense (saline) works really well. If you use it 5 or 6 times a day, you'll notice a difference after a day or 2. Good luck and I hope your little Bethany feels better soon!

I used "Little Noses" saline drops. put them in her nose and then suck her nose out with the aspirator. Babies HATE it, but it does help clear their noses. You will have to repeat several times daily.

Yes, Baby Simply Saline is the best. My 6wk old was a little congested and it helped tremendously. I have been using this for my 3yr old ever since he was little too. Definitely recommend it. Good luck.

I also use "Little Noses". I just did it about 5 minutes ago on my son. He hates it and screams like crazy, but after you use the bulb syringe to suck his nose out, he can breathe well enough to nurse.

I got a little kit from K-mart called Little Noses for my son. It has an aspirator and nasal drops... all it is is saline solution. But it works great for us!
